It's been more than a month since the end of the first series based on the Star Wars universe, The Mandalorian, without a doubt it was magnificent and a jewel for the fans of this franchise, it has so many winks and references to the style of the first trilogy that it simply makes you love it, it's a shame that it had so few episodes, we all wanted more of that little tenderness that many nicknamed "Baby Yoda". Also, it had images of the conceptual art of each episode that left me amazed, very well there Disney.

I started this drawing the very day the first season was ending, and it hasn't been until now that I've been able to finish it, not that I've been drawing tirelessly every day until today, no, no, no, it's been in small lapses of time with a lot of rest hahaha. In total it has been about 20 hours of drawing approximately, definitely coloring by hand takes a lot of time and patience.

Materials:

• Opaline Cardboard (A4)
• Graphite Pencils HB and 6B
• Prismacolor Premier colored pencils
• Eraser & Cutter
• Reference picture MandoBaby Yoda

First, I divided the sheet into four equal parts as a spatial reference to locate the characters. I made this sketch with soft lines, which are easy to erase and cover with the colored pencil.

Before coloring, I always have another sheet of paper where I can test the colors I will use, since I almost always have to mix them to achieve the desired tones. Also, I have another sheet of paper where I have already identified the colors by their shade and code (alleluia that Prismacolor has numbers) this makes it much easier for me to know how to color each pencil.

In the bib there is a great combination of colors, going from a few shades of coffee and red to a little orange and peach, all in order to achieve a uniform and well saturated coloring to contrast with the clothes and the gray hull.

For the small details like armor damage, or the lines of the Blaster (the gun) I had to use a 6B graphite pencil, this allows me to use a very thin tip ideal for fine but firm lines, also I applied it to reinforce some shades of the hull and so on, it is quite useful when you don't want to be wearing out too much your colored pencils with the pencil sharpener.

The Baby Yoda has fit better than I expected, the coloring of his head was very difficult, I could not get the right color combination, plus those edges of his wrinkles were killing me. At least I tried a new technique to make her hair, it's quite simple but risky, it consists in taking the cutter and scraping the colored hair until you get that little white line, we must emphasize that it should not be done with much pressure, otherwise you will get a beautiful tear in your drawing, be careful.
