Mermaid in her past life

Faith has been wanting to get a mermaid tattoo for a long time now. She has a special closeness with the water and ocean and feels that she could have been a mermaid in a past life.

My buddy Ian, that has done a lot of my tattoos, drew this tattoo for Faith is going to be doing the tattoo for her. Today we are just going to be doing a three hour session to get the lines done and the main parts of the tattoo completed.

He used a stencil for the main body of the mermaid, but then he had to hand draw the tail to wrap around the contours of the body. It is crazy that he just draws the tail and then he knows where all the details in the tail are.

We are underway now. I will post progress pictures once it is healed from this session and update when the next session is. Now I want to get more tattoos. This isn't fair...
