Let's try again! My first post in Hive! Happy Saturday!

In the heart of nature as usual! This is the "Broad Scarlet" (Crocothemis erythraea) dragonfly!

I posted in steempeak yesterday because Hive gave me an error message when I tried to post in it! Steempeak must have been busy transitioning to Hive, as the post just disappeared and I couldn't find it in any of the other channels.
So, I made a new post with the same title and posted it in OCD.
This morning when I opened Hive, boom! There was the old post!
I edited the old post headline in Hive to state "Oops", as the new post in OCD is alive and doing well everywhere else!
In any case, here I try again in Hive!

IMG_9530.JPG

A super isolated spot at the foot of the mountains to hunt for life and I took a ton of shots!

IMG_9572.JPG

One has to watch for spiders in the rocks, as I have been bitten many times and now I spray my socks with natural insecticide!

IMG_9614.JPG

Here we have a couple of "Olive Woodpeckers", they are also called Sap suckers elsewhere, tapping away at the trees!

IMG_9504.JPG

This guy is called a "Highland Dropwing", (Trithemis dorsalis)

And That's All Folks!

Shorter than my normal posts, but I don't want to sit for 2 to 3 hours creating a post if I am not sure that it is going to work.
I also think it is unnecessary to talk here about the miracles in our charity work, as after almost 3 years (June) on steem, most of you know us, or about us.

All that I can say here however is that we are genuine, honest and kind to all. Never bought a vote and we follow strict ethical lines. We worked our way up the hard way and we will continue to do our thing here on Hive.

Trust that our great followers and kind supporters will also be here on Hive, and that we can continue the road together!

We hope that you have enjoyed the pictures, and thank you for visiting a post by @papilloncharity

Lovely photos Sir Stephen. Are the spiders there poisonous? It must be painful to be bitten by one ..or two.

Good to see you here Lady Jo.
They bite and 2 days later the fun begins.
A big coin shaped red mark emerges with a black pit in the center.
The first few days it burns severely and then it subsides into a crazy itch.

Only Cortisone cream can fix it. I have had up to 5 on my left leg and 2 on the right one all at the same time. Can only sleep about 2 hours at night.
So no, they are not poisonous, but just very uncomfortable Lol.

Marian now washes my socks with a Lavender additive and it seems to work, as I have not been bitten again, touch wood Lol.
Blessings!

I like the picture of the stream. Those are some nice river rocks. I've never been bitten by a spider, cannot imagine that it is very pleasant.

The woodpeckers are quite different than the ones I'm used to seeing in the Northern Hemisphere, ours are red white and black.

In anycase, your post worked, but it looks like you make issue with your last tag

needs to look like < /center> but without the space before '/'

Thank you and been bitten many times my friend.
One bad experience was 5 bites on my left leg and 3 on the right leg all at the same time. I stepped into one of their nests. A very painful experience.
We have a large variety of woodpeckers here in the country, but I have not seen one like yours.
I will try to fix that tag thank you.
Blessings!

Oh mr Papillon, how I miss seeing those mountains shrouded in the mist! The Western Cape is a beautiful place indeed! Pity we could not have met when we were down there!

Glad you got your post through on HIVE!
Those are some beautiful photos! I love the pair of olive woodpeckers, such a lovely color!
And of course the dragonflies!

How has the Corona virus been effecting your charity? Are you on tight lock down there in South Africa?

Not easy here with the Covid thing my friend,
Our 3 week lockdown starts at midnight on Thursday this week.
Even the charity is locked down because we work in poor areas and the lockdown plan is firstly to scan the people in the poor areas.

Glad that you liked the photos and it seems that the photos in my external harddrive is going to work overtime during the 21 days Lol.
Also great to see you here!

I don't suppose you guys will have a lockdown there in the forest?
Blessings and please take care!

No lock down here - we live in a rather isolated area already! Our Prime Minister is telling everyone to stay home but there is no official lock down. Schools closed and such but we are not confined to our houses.

Hey maybe you can find those moon photos and I can put that book together , get it up on Amazon, Etsy, etc.
I was wondering if you could just send them by email 1 or 2 at a time for how ever many you wanted to send.
Do you still have brown outs with people being confined to their houses? Wouldn't that be rather hot!
Take care!

Oh yea you lucky one you Lol
Day 2 of the lockdown completed now and it is not such a big issue as I can go out into our small garden.
I am thinking to upload all of my photos into the cloud once I have the new PC running? Then I can send you the link and you can download from the cloud?
Let me know if it can work for you.
Blessings!

If I have time, I will start to also upgrade this one.
