Pinkerton Hot Springs

You will encounter The hot springs when you travel from Durango to Silverton mountains on million dollar highway. This is a small hot spring which looks so beautiful. Very easily accessible as its located exactly by road. The mountains were covered with snow, but the spring water was hot.

This was an unexpected encounter while you are driving in new place for the first time.

Out plan was to travel the million dollar route and reach Aspen from Durango.

What does a first timer do normally? Depend on the maps 🤷‍♂️,

Yup even I had set my maps on google map, and crossed Durango City. Just before we enter the snow mountains, map was showing a hot springs spot and it looked so close to US550 highway route. So we decided to stop and take a look.

The hot springs was just few meters from highway and was visible clearly.

We stopped and the view was a good one worth stopping. It was raining lightly and snowflakes were falling too. I went closer to feel the waters, they were so hot, actually surprised and this was my first ever time witnessing the natural hot springs. In the cold and snow, hot water sprinted out constantly.

Just before we start, a couple came from Silverton and I just exchanged conversations to know about the condition of the mountains and snow (you know firsttimer in snow)

He literally scared US and finally he showed a video they took on the roads. Since I had a 4 wheel drive, it would be safe.
