Rookie Guide for Splinterlands - An overview on useful 3rd party sites

Rookie Guide - 3rd party sites.png

I'm playing Splinterlands since September 2021 and I have to say there is a lot of things going on in game, but also outside the game. In this blogspot I will introduce multiple sites I use to get ahead in the game.

I will not introduce sites already promoted by Splinterlands - Peakmonsters, Monstermarket and Card Auctionz. All of these sites are marketplaces, where you can get a much sweater deal on cards, then on Splinterlands. All of them have their strong sides as well and there is a lot of content about them out there.

The sites I will introduce are:

  • Splinterlands Card Maker
  • Splintershare
  • Splintertools
  • Splintercards

and a honorary mention of the Splinter Lore site :)

Splinterlands Card Maker

Overview
Site
splinterlandscardmaker.com
Purpose
Create your own custom cards
Site design
Easy to use, nice design
Price
Free
How to use the site

The usage of the site is straight forward, as the iconography is the same as on the Splinterlands.

  • On the top you can choose the Card Edition, Foil, Splinter (hint: there were no neutral Alpha cards) and the Attack type (you can have multiple attack types on one card!). The fun part is that you can upload a picture.
  • Around the card you can edit all the stats, and with the "Upload" button you can upload your own card design!
  • At the end press the Create Card button and you are done. Enjoy your custom card :)

For this card I used the picture of a Splinterlands NFT I own: https://www.splintertalk.io/nfts/splinterlands_splinterlands-collectibles_feeling-lucky

Thoughts

It is a fun webpage to play with. When the Splinterlands team announces new cards, then I always like to guess what attributes these cards will have. With a little time on my hand, I can even create the cards on this tool!
To make this a bit interesting, if you create a card and post it in the comments with a little story about the card, then I will send you a common or a rare reward card from my own collection - depending on the quality of your post :)

Splintershare

Overview
Site
https://splintershare.info/
Purpose

Site design
Clean and easy to navigate
Price
Free / Donations accepted
How to use the site
  • Go to the site
  • Enter your name (highlighted in yellow bracket below)
  • To see the overview of your last chest opening press "Search for my last rewards" (highlighted in green bracket below)
  • Month's recap button (highlighted in light blue bracket below) will be visible, once you loaded your last rewards.

Just enter your username and press "Search for my last rewards"

Result

The overview of your last chest openings on Splintershare.info

Below is the months recap view. For comparison I added the last 2 months for my alt account. Keep in mind, that it was fighting in S3 in the last reward system, but now I rent more often, and as such fight in S1 since mid season, despite of that the amount of rewards increased significantly in the new system.

May results before the ranked update

June current results after the update

Thoughts

A very handy tool which came out at the right time as well, as it is extremely simple to compare the earnings between the old and new ranked reward system. It will be also a good tool to see how upcoming changes proposed by the team will impact the rewards (unfortunately I believe they were very benevolent for lower leagues in the last update, so I expect a decline in future rewards).

Splintertools

Overview
Site
https://splintertools.io/
Purpose
Developing winning strategies by replaying previous fights with new lineups
Site design
Simple and a bit confusing, there are a lot of improvement possibilities for better usability
Price
Free / Premium features for 1 hive a month
How to use the site
  • Input your username (highlighted in orange bracket below)
  • Press the Search button (highlighted in white bracket below)

image.png

  • Scroll a bit down to see your recent fights
  • Click on Train (highlighted in red bracket below)

image.png

  • On the top of this screen you can see the enemy team, mana and rulesets. (highlighted in red bracket)
  • In the middle are the cards which you have in your inventory. (highlighted in green bracket). You can use these cards to change your setup, see more on this below.
  • On the bottom you can see your line up. (highlighted in white bracket). By clicking on the cards you can deselect them and add new cards to the line up or change the whole lineup.
  • Press the Predict button to see the % change of winning with the created team. % is calculated by simulating the fight 100 times on the site servers, so the result may differ by a few percent, which is impacted by the dodge chances in the fights.

Result

After playing with the lineup this should be your optimal result :)

Thoughts

When starting the game a lot of lineups could look intimidating, and it takes a lot of time and mainly Resource Credits to find the right counters against bot lineups. This little handy tool helps to try out different strategies very fast and gives a feel of the winning chances.
I use this tool when I lost a fight and want to try out a different strategy, just to see if it would work better. You might find even winning strategies against enemies with higher level teams :)
The project has an additional browser extension, which can help you make the best decisions in game as well (though I never tried it out, so can't advice on that, but you can check out BullDog1205's streams).

Splintercards

Overview
Site
splintercards.com
Purpose
Go to place for all information about Splinterlands
Site design
Nice to look at, easy to navigate a lot of options
Price
Free / Donations accepted
How to use the site

I will not go into detail on this site, as there are simply to many things to look at and to go into. Just a small needed info. On the top of the site in the middle you will find the menu with all the different options to check out. Your screen might be white first. I used Dark mode on the site. Just click the moon next to the SplinterCards text (I have a sun there now) :)

Gameplay menu contains information on the game, Tools menu contains options for interesting real time calculations

Thoughts

You can find a lot of information about the game here starting from card overviews including stats and historical market prices. An overview of rulesets as well as abilities. When clicking on the abilities the cards having that ability are shown with the level it will be available at. Overview of Land, Leagues etc. with usually up to date information.
In the last year a lot of new tools were developed in the Tools section to give even better updates on the game.

This is my go to site, when I want to use icons for creating Share Your Battle Challenge post.

Honorary mention: Splinter Lore

Site
www.splinterlore.com
Purpose
All the lore and even some fanfiction about Splinterlands
Site design
A bit hard to work on it at first, as the ratios does not seem to harmonize on the main site, but the navigation menu is simple to use, and it is easy to find what you are looking for :)
Price
Free

Which are your favorite sites you use? Give me the link in the comment, and I will check them out. Maybe create another post, if there are some good ones ;)

That's all for today! See you on the battlefield!

Dear @arkasz, we need your help!

The Hivebuzz proposal already got important support from the community. However, it lost its funding a few days ago when the HBD stabilizer proposal rose above it.

May we ask you to support it so our team can continue its work?
You can do it on Peakd, Ecency, Hive.blog or using HiveSigner.

All votes are helpful and yours will be much appreciated.
Thank you!
