Is MR. Robot underrated?

avatar

Or am i just missing all the people that are watching and commenting on it?

A show about weird, socially awkward, drug abusing character with psychological problems that talks to himself (or you as and audience) and hates the state of society. Who would not want to watch that? Now writing this i kinda get it, a lot of people don't like to spend their free time watching dark, depressing stuff. And it is dark and depressing.

On the other side, it is a series that knew when and how it will end from the first episode. The attention to details is really great (don't you hate when people just randomly click on the keyboard in hacking scenes?). All the code typed makes sense and they are really typing it. All the hacks are plausible, everything tech wise is on the spot.

Cinematically it looks great. And there is some weird shit there :D

Most of the scenes are really good planed and filmed. They also use unconventional way of framing the subjects, most of the times looking at the short side of the frame even when talking to each other (and that creates a feel of disconnect and loneliness which is a strong subject of the series).

A lot of subject right in the center is used, and all that combined gives a interesting feel to the whole series.

Elliot Alderson (main character) is used as unreliable narrator, some see it as i gimmick but it was a great tool to get viewers contemplating what is real and what is going on and for now, everything was explained in the end.

I feel that anyone that likes visual arts could find something interesting in this. And they did all kind of weird stuff. From the sitcom episode, one take episode (illusion of one take but done great), episode with no dialog just sounds and music, and last one was staged like a play in five acts. (also the five acts could be looked like 5 stages of grief - Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance a great way to show us what was going on with Elliot.

Rami Malek did a phenomenal job with the main character and i can't imagine anyone else doing it (even i had no idea who he is before watching Mr. Robot). But all the actors did great job in this one.

You be strange now, but don’t be a stranger.

I really liked the first season, I thought it was beautifully shot and really enjoyed the acting and plot. I kinda forgot about it though, never watched after the first season. I will have to start watching it again

they are finishing this season. i feel that 2 season is the weakest. they can still do some crazy stuff with the ending but i feel it will be ok. i like the idea that they knew the whole story at the beginning and did not want to stretch it out.
