Moonshaped Scar

Was taking my shower this morning when my hands felt through a very familiar scar right below my sternum.
This took me down memory lane as I began to relieve the circumstances leading to this particular one..

See, my mom had just delivered my new sister and after about 48hours of waiting at home for them to get back from the hospital, I was a very excited 7 year old girl quite eager to take up the responsibility of being a big sister...what did I know?

Upon their arrival, I finally got to carry/ hold the baby though not entirely on my own as pops was just so close, visibly scared that I may drop her🙄! Later that evening, Granny decided it was time to bath her and while she got busy setting up the room for the bath, I just lay on the floor at Dad's feet bare chested wearing just the trouser of my pyjamas and obviously enjoying the moment ...

Also oblivious of the hot water in the basin yet to be diluted for my sister's bath...unfortunately for me at that moment, my elder sister came running into the room and tipped the bowl over making the hot water splash right on top my bare chest!

I won't say I remember what the pain felt like then but I can tell you I don't wish that upon my enemy. Had a long way to recovery and not wearing shirts, lol.
My elder sister has a scar too on her left forearm to tell the story of that day, though almost faded now.
And the way we laugh about it presently when we want to taunt the little one, hehe..

Different individuals have different scars telling different stories of past events in our lives. How well we've handled all these contributes to our present.
