I don't remember where this came from but I wouldn't trade it for a new copy. I think the aged looks makes it more spooky.

Take a glance at the books on your shelf. How many of those books do you cherish? I’m not speaking about how the stories make you feel or the writers you enjoy(no doubt they play a part) but the physical book itself.

Now let me ask you this? would you exchange those books for an exact copy? Maybe even a better copy? If not, why? What is it about yours copy is significant to you? Did you received them as a gift by a loved one or did reading them help you through a rough emotional patch? Whatever the reason, don’t you agree that those books bear an innate quality that requires more than cash to create.

I found this one in a book store in Northfield MN. I was wearing a Dracula shirt at the time. it is a 1965 copy

I’ll wager you have at least a few of these books in your life. No doubt they expose a range of feeling just thinking about them.

What gives you those emotions; what about when you found the book(s) for the first time? Can you recall intimate details of the experience?

I found this one in an antique shop in Alexandria MN. It sat alone on a random surface, no other books around.

Most of the books we buy today stem from a mega bookseller like Barnes and Noble, Or ordered on-line on Amazon. I’m not big on buying anything on Amazon anymore myself Still, I prefer when books enter our lives not because we pursued them but for reasons we don’t fully understand.

***I found this gem by accident at one of out own local book stores. I'm not sure what compelled me to buy it but I'm glad I did. ***

Perhaps the book came from a big box store after all but, through circumstances, developed into more than just another book on the shelf.
It’s a rare occurrence that this takes place (at least for me) and one I hope will take place more often.
