Today, after bringing some sapling trees down to town, @ecoinstante and I took a ride into Padilla.
These are the foothills of our Andean Mountain range, central cordillera. Behind us you can see the plains of Tolima.
This is a very rocky area. The man we were meeting showed us his mob grazing strategy.
The had mostly cows in their system, and they are planting the fencing with mataratón and other useful species of tree.
We also met their baby bufalo.
It is a rescue bufalo and has no parents. They say it mostly hangs out with the toros, the two male cows for this farm.
We had a lot of fun today meeting this local, responsible farmer and hearing his strategy.
