A few days ago, i published about Tweet Monetization, getting crypto value for your Twitter Engagement via Coinkit and other BOTs. If you missed it, click on it to read about how engaging on Twitter, Discord and Telegram could earn users some tiny fractions of cryptocurrencies. Unfortunately, as fancy and futuristic as it sounds, it comes with a great disadvantage for both advance and new comers in the crypto-space.

Phishing is when a malicious website link is created to syphon people's wallet when it is clicked upon, that is the crypto version of pishing. It works with links set as click-baits, a novice, even an advance crypto user could still fall for this trick. Once such links are clicked upon, hackers could have access into slightly secured wallets and cart away with the portfolios. It is a rampant attempt on the Blockchain and daily, people still fall into the trap of opening this malicious links unknowingly and only a few get away with it.

Sadly, monetized engagements makes more crypto holders and users more vulnerable to malicious click-baits and phishing attempts. There are a average of hundred monetized tweets per day and each of these tweets comes with links asking crypto users to carry out a certain task and more. It is scary to know that many of these links takes users to unsecured and malicious websites and could expose them to wallet hacks and pishing. Nothing could be done regarding this because it also serves good purposes for upcoming crypto projects trying to generate traffic to their websites, also for promotions and giveaways. This makes it hard to differentiate a malicious link from a harmless one.

A few suggestion for users who are attracted to monetized tweets and engagement on different platforms. There is absolutely no wrong in getting tokens from monetized engagements, but firstly, it is advisable to secure every wallet diligently, 2-Factor setting is essential for funds security. Also, it is important for every crypto user to use their intuition; this will help to determine whether to proceed on clicking a link in any tokenized engagement or not. Once a user can make these split-seconds decisions, then they could be safe from click-baits and pishing attempts. Thanks for reading.
