Today is the beginning of Winter and the Challenge theme Wintermas goes into the second round 😁

The #Photo52 challenge theme of this week is again "Wintermas!" , and so I thought I could as well take advantage of that and post some more photos of last weekend to the Photo 52, 2020 Challenge, Week Number 51 of @photo52, hosted by Victor @wwwiebe.

Today I want to show you the photos I took last Sunday morning on the mountain near the village of Diex.
The Sunrise was quite colorful, but lasted only a few minutes, because there have been a lot of dark clouds in the sky and the fog decided to climb higher up from the valley right when the sun appeared from behind the wooded hill.

When I arrived on my location there was not much to see that morning, but then the clouds opened a small gap at the horizon and while the horizon turned golden, the high clouds began dissolving slowly.

As said above, the beginning of Winter is today on December 21, but when I look outside I see only gray in gray. So, I am somehow happy to be in Home Office this week and have some time in between to edit more colorful photos :)

The high fog reached almost the peaks of the Karawanks Mountain range in the south.

And then the sun arrived from behind the wooded hill and smiled at me, but not for long, because the fog has also been climbing upwards and soon it covered my view.

Although the sky slowly cleared up while I was packing my gear back into the car, I moved on to my next location and said good bye to a beautiful wintry landscape.

About one week later, almost all the snow was gone. Yesterday I have taken a few photos only, which I even haven't viewed on the big monitor yet.

Well that was all for today - I hope you enjoyed my photos a little.

All photos were taken with the Canon EOS R and one of these lenses: Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM, Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS II USM, Canon EF 16-35mm 1:4 L IS USM, Canon EF 50mm 1:1.8 L STM, SIGMA 105mm 1:2,8 DG MACRO HSM, SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM C.

Many times when I look at a "bad" photo on the camera, it surprises me on the big screen.

That's why many of my photos have to wait days or even weeks before I have a deeper look at them, when I don't like them in camera.
After a while I see them with different eyes.

It's just so that when I sit for an hour or two at the monitor editing a photo I need some distance, because after looking at it for hours you think it's good (or bad) and when you forget it for a while your eyes might see it completely different ... doesn't make much sense, I know ;)

No, it makes perfect sense. We are so intricately designed that when we look at an object at a certain time, both the light and our mood (thoughts) play a role in our perceptions.

Then at another time things look different 😮
I have solved many problems like this, by simply waiting to make a decision.
2 or 3 days later the problem is solved 🤣

Taught to me many years ago by my wise gran my friend.

Hahaha, yes, they call it discernment my friend.
When you wait, your gut will tell you when the time foe action is right, but many of us try to reason, or ignore our gur feelings. That's when the real trouble starts 🤣

A beautiful collection of the sunrise. It’s impossible to pick a favorite but the last two are exceptional. The colors in the last one make it look like a painting.

I’m always amazed at the heavy fog and how high it can go...makes everything mysterious.

And what I like the most is the photo where the sun rises behind the hill ....
You had nice opportunities to photograph the sun .... Clouds here all weekend ... Yesterday there was a little sun and today it's already clouds ....

I enjoy watching all of your photos of the sunrise very much. The sunrise behind the mountain is always picturesque. When I was a kid, I love to draw and paint similar to the one in the 6th photo. But, the real sunrise in your photo is much more magnificent. The golden color of the sky and clouds in the 5th photo is very gorgeous. Great capture!

Sitting listening to Fleetwood Mac Rumours really enjoying this photography. Once again hiding indoors being 28 deg C tomorrow a promise of a lot hotter.

Oh that cool photography definitely something to project ones imagination across the miles to enjoy!

Now that will do just fine, I will project my mind into that cool looking pic. It looks so peaceful and quiet out there I could swing a hammock between the two big trees and chill.
