The Independence Pass

Is also known as Hunter pass which connects the Twin lakes and the beautiful city of Aspen. The Independence pass drives through the Rocky mountains of Colorado. The High elevated highway is very dangerous road to take when it snows heavily. Took the chance the day and crossed Aspen to Twin lakes and back to Denver.

The roads climb a huge elevation from the city of Aspen and they help us to cross the mountains and pass by the Twin lakes. But the snow is a huge factor here. I was in Aspen to watch the beautiful sunrise at Maroon Bells.

The sunrise as not as expected coz of the cloudy weather. And it started snowing lightly. The Independence pass gets closed if it snows heavily beyond cleaning it.

Since that was the first snow, I was able to go back and drive. Cross the snow mass and get the best views of the snow covered mountains.

Didnt stop on the mountains, just to be on safer and quicker to cross them, before unexpected snow locks me down in the mountains.
