Sepia Saturday On Assateague Island

The following photos are from my visit, in September, to Assateague Island. I have shown some photos from this visit already but thought it would be fun to show some today in sepia for #sepiasaturday!

Assateague Island is a barrier island that is 37 miles long.

Two-thirds of the island is in Maryland, which is the area that I visited, and the other third is in Virginia.

You can drive through some parts of the island for free and other parts there is a small fee. The Visitor Center is free and well worth the stop. If you're lucky then you may even see some of the wild ponies that inhabit the island.

One of my favorite things to see (besides the wild ponies) were the Loblolly pine trees. The Loblolly pine trees by the water are quite picturesque!

Assateague Island has a lot to see and enjoy including beaches, wildlife and scenic trails and views! I didn't get to see as much as I would've liked to on this visit but I know it won't be my last and I'm excited to make another visit there soon but probably not till it warms up a little! 😉

The serpia gives the photos an interesting look @deerjay. Looks like Assateague Island is good one to explore.
