Holi Festival 2019 - #showcasesunday
I can't wait to go again
Last year I went to the Holi Festival here in Utah. We didn't get to have it this year because of the whole Coronavirus thing going on. This is the second one here in Utah that I attended and I was looking forward to going again this year. Hopefully next year everything is fine in the world that they will be able to have the festival. I hope you enjoy these photos.
Holi is Love
Holi is an ancient Hindu festival that is mostly celebrated in India and Nepal, but the celebration has spread to other parts of the world as well. It is known as the "Festival of Colors," "Festival of Love," or the "Festival of Spring." It signifies the end of winter, the welcoming of spring and the blossoming of love. source
Here in Utah, we have the largest Holi Festival in the United States. This is the second time I have gone to the festival here and it is amazing every time I go. The vibe there is always one of peace and love.
During the festival there are multiple stages surrounding with Temple with live bands and DJs playing music and everyone is having a great time.
It was such a happy vibe throughout the crowd and we got a special treat during one of the breaks between the songs. A young couple got on the stage and the man started talking to the crowd and introduced himself and his girlfriend.
After he introduced himself and his girlfriend to the thousands of people in the crowd, he turned to his girlfriend and got down on one knee and asked her if she would marry him.
My wife can feel people's energy and right when the couple got on the stage and before they even said anything, she told me that the guy was going to propose to her. I knew this was going to be a special moment to capture so I had to hurry and find a good spot to get some pictures of it, but not be in the middle of the whole crowd where I would get covered in the colored powder because I knew they were going to go crazy when he proposed.
Of course she said yes and the crowd threw colors into the air to celebrate for this newly engaged couple. It was such an awesome site.
I can't wait to go to India to experience the real feeling of Holi. I told @backpackingmonk that I want to go next year and visit him during that time. Hopefully the market turns around and starts to work in our favor so that I will be able to bring my family and make it out for Holi. I want to wish everyone around the world a Happy Holi.
Such a happy, colored and powerful event ! ^_^

Thanks. We are all doing pretty good. What about you all?
Yes that's true, Holi is love. This year we also could not celebrate it fully but we will be doing with more energy next year.
These are awesome shots and what a cool experience to witness the proposal. I've always wanted to shoot an event like this, but I've read the colored powered can destroy even weather sealed cameras.
What a awesome place for a proposal one they will never forget 😊
I've always loved this Holi Festival! I used to go every year, it's a blast.
Those are some dope shots mate, i wish i could give two full upvotes on this one.
Definitely looks like lots of fun had there 🤣
