Today we will be decorating another part of the house, the lower level, where many people will gather over the upcoming Christmas season. Aunts and Uncles and cousins... Brothers and sisters and all their children, big and small, with little fur babies in tow. What would life be without them? Family rules! Gone are the childhood squabbles that I didn't forget about. Kidding, of course. Six brothers were not always easy to live with but there were times that they were so much fun and to be honest, I cannot imagine life without them. Life is beautiful, yes? Today is a #BeautifulSunday by @Ace108, where we share our day in the most possibly beautiful way that we can. So a day steeped in decorating and reflection, definitely a #SublimeSunday in the making, by the Meister of my morning, @c0ff33a. I do love my @c0ff33 and he likes eclectic! A match made in heaven..
There are Christmas hymns playing softly in the background, working its way up to booming. You know the words, come on and join in!
Hallelujah!
There is so much memory attached to the sounds of Christmas. People, places, even things. But, it is the people that my mind is on. What are they doing? For some, that I have lost touch with, where are they? Are they happy? Do they reminisce about days gone by, when our paths crossed on a daily basis for a year or three? Do they?
Do you have a friend like that? Once so close, even more than your own family at times? Then for one reason or another, the ties are no longer, or perhaps they are lying dormant, waiting for life to be pumped back into them?
Reflections.Of life.
Oh, the winter of discontent is upon me. I cannot even count on my fingers how many people I owe the gift of time. Truth be told, I miss the easy camaraderie that I have with these people. My people. I am not sure how I got out of the habit of touching base with these amazing inhabitants of my heart. One day, it was a year later. I was trying to visualize how it was to not be able to breathe and it saddened me. They were my oxygen. Once upon a time. Has my heart turned to stone?
Le sigh.
I pick up the phone and put the number in from memory. The tears roll, just thinking about the memories.
The glow of the light fed the illusion that was building in my mind. Only the sweet memories remain inside me, the ones of days gone by. The fireplace is on, even though the weather doesn't warrant it.
I 💖 you. Oh, yes I do. The Season of Joy. I've said it a hundred times already, but, each time I say it, it's true. Oh, Christmas, you do it every time!
And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more. ~ Dr. Suess

Happy Sunday @dswigle! I haven't dropped by in awhile, been so busy with the Thanksgiving weekend family mayhem at the farm. Like you, I have a big family, 3 brothers and 3 sisters, 18 cousins for my 4 children and 6 grand children with one more on the way due Dec. 30th for @thebigsweed and I. PHEW!

Oh, yes. The long lost friends is always a big deal to us who are frequent fliers in the moving department. Of course, it is inevitable, but, still makes me sad to lose touch with some, especially if they have left the system already.
