It’s not a Party unless it’s a Dance Party

Our elders have so much value! While it feels at times like this is overlooked, just throw a party to celebrate that tremendous potential and you will find smiles wherever you look.

The Roundhouse is one of the rare places where these older adults get to prance like kings and queens and really feel like the belle of the ball.

I honestly feel like everyone takes dance lessons on a regular basis. Is it just me? Watch this video to be a better judge and to hear the Roundhouse choir sing.

Mark Beaty took the stage with his Rounhouse choir and put on quite a show. Their technical skills did not disappoint but it was their spirit that warmed up everybody’s heart.

Freshii came as a healthy choice to ensure that everyone’s belly was full. It’s much more fun once satiated!

Those wraps are packed with flavor I tell you, and the falafel was my favorite.

You can see the train track embedded into the floor, commemorating an industrial era gone by. Many high end art exhibit happen in this hall.

Everything must be done with style, that is the lesson which I learn just by looking at my elder’s dignified composure.

The ladies at this table all come to my fitness class. So nice to see them mingle and take the time to be together. It feels very special to have them return and bust a move time and time again.

This woman is beautiful in her festive apparel. Can you tell that she really wants to be there?

One of the things characterizing our amazing community is open mindedness. During these good times, I feel no gap at all, generational or otherwise. If this crowd is a bit reserved, they are curious and want to know more about you, a perfect opportunity to open up.

Like I said...

... it’s not a party...

... unless...

Diana the mysterious... well... maybe she is a bit too approachable to be mysterious XD However, it is an enigma how she can fly from task to task without anyone noticing her being hard at work.

Leave it to Diana Vanderveen to make our Elders feel loved and understood. She goes all out to make sure that they feel special and let’s face it, a party like this tackles isolation in our community like nobody’s business.
