To the Waterfall
I knew there was a manmade waterfall somewhere in this city but I only knew the general direction of it and didn't know it was walking distance away. I've only lived here 9 years, I can't know these things.
I've seen the waterfall in numerous instagram posts because it seems to be the hot spot for generic engagement photos, mostly really bad ones. I don't care about that but I like running water so I've been wanting to visit the place.
Yesterday my friend took me on a walk, because I'm a dog and need to be taken outside regularly, and I said I'm open to any place, just not the same routes along the lake I always walk myself. I didn't know where we were headed and got a nice surprise when I first heard and then saw the waterfall. I soon recognised it as the place I've seen a lot of pictures of.
Sadly I did't have a tripod with me, which would have been a must for some proper waterfall shots. Nor did I have a wider lens and the weather was super dull also. But now that I know there is a waterfall a walking distance away, I'll be sure to visit again come summer. I want those green leaves backlit by the afternoon sun!
PS. Last time I saw a waterfall was in Tallinn with @escapist @rubencress and @greddyforce. That was two years ago and here is the post about it. Miss you guys<3
I still can't believe that you have no "real" waterfalls in the nearby areas.
We have countless in my region, some bigger some smaller. The one you saw in Estonia definitely belongs to one of the most spectacular group.

Haha yeah I know there are some but they are all up in the north 😅
Waterfalls always make me feel relaxed...The sound and motion of the water I assume. Natural ones are the best, but man made will do at a pinch.
I didn't take a picture of it but there was a really nice old wooden house next to the waterfall. Can you iagine going to sleep to the sound of a rushing water? Heaven I tell ya.
Oh yeah, that would be amazing...I've camped near waterfalls here and it's so relaxing and almost hypnotic. It's something special for sure. A little like the ocean I guess but I like to. Instant white noise of a waterfall better.
