Close-up with Campbell's Cove in Melbourne Australia (5 photos)

I'm generally a street photographer, but there are many people out and about at the moment so I thought I would try something a little different.

I know of a place not far from home (maybe a 25 minute drive) which is a) unusual and b) deserted so that felt like a nice place to spend a morning doing what I like whilst also being socially distant. It also means this is 25 minutes from the skyscrapers of Melbourne's downtown.

Campbells cove is a weird stretch of beach at the end of a farm road, next to a miltary airport, it get no through traffic and unless you knew it was there you would never find it. Along it's foreshore is maybe 150 boathouses used by fisherman. Most were built in the 1950's and they are in various states of disrepair, everything is rusted and old, but there is beauty in all this mess, particularly if you focus on the details,

I'll do another post showing a actual landscape but for now let's get into the details.

So I present to you five shots of beauty in close-up:

This is love, bright mould growing on a fibreglass sheet - this is probably eight ways this thing can kill me:

A old chain hanging from one of the decks:

And a new one in a rock:

Mould on a boat which is never going to float again

And finally, everything is locked up tight to keep out people like me.

I'm sure you'll be fine as long as you don't inhale or ingest mould spores right? RIGHT?! ^_^;

That lock in the last pic looks like it would break if you just go to open it so not sure how much of a deterrant the lock is XD

Everything looks like it would fall apart if you touch it.
