I feel completely revived

While most people here sigh, complain, groan and almost succumb to the heat wave that is visiting our country, I feel completely revived. Where 99.9% of the Dutch are complaining and cannot get anything out of their hands… I actually feel completely revived. Where I used to be a winter person in the past, and summer could be stolen from me, so to speak, in recent years I have really noticed that I increasingly dislike the dark gloomy winter days and that I completely revive in the summer, and certainly as soon as the temperature rises above 25 degrees. The warmer the better I like it.

you can work fine with 36 degrees outside

Where everyone around me collapses, and locks themselves indoors during the day, I prefer to enjoy the early relatively cool morning by taking brisk walks with the dogs. Then as soon as it gets TOO hot for the dogs to be really active, to carry out my own activities. Yes, with 36 degrees outside you can work fine I think ...

Use the garden as my 'workshop'

Since there is no inside 'workshop', the yard behind outside is simply used for that. It works fine between the planters. And sanding wood produces at most some noise and sawdust, but is not harmful in any way. So that's a great job to do when it's 36 degrees.

Unscrewing a large wooden planter with a volume of 1 cubic meter of sand and a large plant (Mammoth leaf) is also fine work in these tropical temperatures. Once the sides have been screwed off, it is also good to scoop out the sand and transport it to the compost bin. Only I had made a mistake in the quantity. Fun 1 cubic meter of sand is a lot of work, so half was done yesterday… and the other half will have to be done today.

Today it is even getting a bit warmer. While I'm typing this, the temperature here has already risen to 30 degrees at 10am, and in fact the worst heat is yet to come.

I'm really enjoying the heat

I sympathize with the people who cannot stand it… but at the same time I enjoy it to the fullest. Because later in the winter I will still be able to sit inside enough and suffer from a cold while everyone else is heating their boiler to almost tropical temperatures. Then it is sometimes not warmer inside me as 13 degrees in the living room, and very occasionally even below 10 degrees in the kitchen. Can I be blamed for enjoying the free warmth we have now? It may continue like this for me.

Back to work now

Now it is time to continue my work, because even though I don't have a job that requires 100% commitment ... I have more than enough to do.
