What do you do if you have exactly two hours of free time?

Waterfall Details / Wasserfall Details
Waterfall Sörg - Liebenfels - Carinthia

Of course I have no idea what you are doing, but yesterday I took some photos of a waterfall.

My son had only two hours to work yesterday. Because I promised to be his chauffeur I drove him to work at 8 o'clock and then I had exactly two hours to do something.

The Waterfall Sörg is about half an hour away from Klagenfurt, and because the road passes right above the waterfall, so you do not have to walk through the entire "Adventure Water Way", the decision was quite easy ;)

I have already photographed the waterfall (see my yesterday's post Adventure Water Way / Abenteuer Wasser Weg), and because the forest is no longer really beautiful autumn colored, I have only shot these details of the waterfall.

The trip and return trip took a few minutes longer than expected, but I was there on time when my son left the company 😊

If I have the chance to photograph, then I will certainly do it - in the past days I didn't have any chance anyway because of the bad weather.

Sometimes you have to take a day off and forget the work ;)
I had many other things to do after these two hours and driving my son home.

Thank you so much that you like the place @kaminchan, I will be there again in Spring when everything is green and growing again. It will be looking much better then.

Wow, amazing although it looks like me as a light/beam falling on a burned place.

Two hours is not much for me. I believe I would do nothing. Happy day.

Cool, you have noticed about somehow the same as I did, when I made the photos - the stones with the water spray around them behind the waterfall look somehow like a burned down fireplace or BBQ, thank you that you like the photos @wakeupkitty 🙂

These two hours included driving there and back, so I had only about 45 minutes ;)

@johannpiber You did it fast. I assume you been there before. It was the first I thought as I saw the photo as if there had been a fire. Next I was not sure (it is a small photo on a mobile) but it looked like that. So an old fireplace and a beam if light comes through the roof to brighten up the place. 🤔 water at hand is comfy too.

I guess a lack of light coloured the stones, iron in the water perhaps?

I have been there some days before (https://steemit.com/travelfeed/@johannpiber/adventure-water-way-abenteuer-wasser-weg). I knew where to go and I knew I wanted to make just a few detail photos of the waterfall. So, it was quite easy.
The hardest part was not to fall on the way down and up at the side of the waterfall, because it was so muddy and slippery because of the rain we had in the past weeks.

I have no idea, what's in the water, but it is delicious, cold and fresh 🙂

Have a great Sunday @wakeupkitty

@johannpiber I will visit the link later. It does not load with me at the moment.
Perhaps it is not what is in the water but what is not in the water. A high amount for like and iron for example. Happy day. ❤️

Never mind @wakeupkitty, it's just a post with more photos of that river.

Now I would need an explanation: what could be missing in the water and what is a high amount for like and iron and what effect would this have on the water?

Wish you a good day 🙂

!BEER

@johannpiber my water is brown because of the high amount of iron. It colors everything brown, toilet pot, bath, sink. You can taste it and smell it. Like should be lime/chalk. The amount here is high too and it ruins boilers, taps, you can see it on the earth after it rained and dried up.

Sorry but my keyboard loves to change words automatically and esteem even deletes words. I do not know how to solve that problem.

When our water is brown usually the plumbing is the reason - there's rust in the water pipes because of old metal pipes.
I have never seen water which was brown because of the water itself. I mean, we have too much chalk in the water, but so much iron that the water is brown? No way.
But the Netherlands are different - that's what I have learned from you @wakeupkitty 😉

Have a nice day 🙂

When my autocorrection on the smartphone corrects something wrong I correct it again ;)

I have no metal pipes but pvc in this area everyone has the same water and we have our own well. At times it is less but it shows in the filter of the water pump too. It all depends on the amount of rain we have and who knows what the farmers used or once all buried in the ground. We tried to clean it, over two trucks with dirt and we still find it.❤️

There must be a lot of very bad stuff burried on your properties. I can remember, when I was young there was an area , a large pit near our small village, where everybody disposed his garbage.

Such must have happened where you live. But this garbage pit in my village has been cleaned many years ago, and you can drink the water from any well or brook. Our water there comes direct from the mountain and is much better than any water you can buy.
So, there has been and is going some really bad sh*t on, where you live.

I wish you a great day anyway @wakeupkitty 🙂

@johannpiber Are garbage pits are hills now. Grass is growing on it. There is one nearby plus I know one where sheep live on. Some neighbours here still burn their own garbage no matter what it is. Many dump it here too. That is where the country is good for. The youngest told me someone dumped an old tv and chair for a desk and two corners are filled with bags. The truck drivers do it too. The city cleans it up once in a while and next day it is the same. ❤️

As long as the grass is green and not purple or shining in the night, I think it should be OK ;)
Try and burn anything apart from wood here in Austria and you will get punished and have to pay a fine.
The same happens here if people get caught illegally disposing their trash.

(Edited)

@johannpiber I can remember there was a time they searched through the garbage to find the person who did it. I guess they gave up on it?

People here are used to it and if you are the only one complaining about it (burning garbage) they make your life a hell (or shoot at your dog or threaten your children). ❤️

@johannpiber The world I was born in was bad because they do not like people like me... A child from a mixed couple no one knows what it is. The older I get the better it gets. I have rights now and one of them is I do no longer need to socialize, can be with me and live the way I like. As long people leave me alone I have a good life and they won't hear me complain about their garbage, mess, loud music etc.

Happy day/weekend. Thanks for the great chats. Know I appreciate it, same with your photos. ❤️

In that sense, people have changed for the better, I think, they are much more tolerant of different people than they were a few years ago.

Once more I thank you and I wish you a wonderfull weekend @wakeupkitty 🙂

@johannpiber I am not sure about that change but it all depends on where you live and who you meet but my life is good this way.

Happy days for you and the family. ❤️

Yes, of course it depends on where you live, because there are still some areas, where people are still intolerant, but also these people are changing slowly, I think - we should just think more positive.

I wish you and your family happy days too 🙂

@johannpiber I do not think people change, a next-generation does. I see that with my children. They grew up in different times, nearly three generations difference and it shows in behaviour and attitude. My norms and values I partly share with the eldest but not with the rest. They are better off in the present world and can manage. Happy days. ❤️

If I compare my grand parents, my parents, me and my children I would say, the people have changed a lot, but of course, it depends on where the people live and who they live with.

Happy days too @wakeupkitty 🙂

@johannpiber I think they did. My eldest is raised the same as I and my (grand)parents but somewhere something did changed. My youngest will manage the best in this world. There is an age difference of over 20 years. ❤️

@johannpiber It is indeed. Strange not much has changed in the past years... since than. Soon we have 2020 and not even what we saw in SF about 1980 came true. Enjoy your day. ❤️

Good morning @wakeupkitty 🙂

I think, many technical things became true, but the society has changed not or different from the science fiction movies.
2020 will be here soon - let's see, what it will bring ...

I wish you also a great day 🙂

!BEER

@johannpiber 2020 will be filled with more "wir schaffen das", more taxes, a raise of health insurance again (we already pay more as 140 a month with an own risk of 850 euro, laying meds, etc yourself), a next raise of electricity and gas and more people kicked out of their houses and 50-70% more debts. Partly because everything became way more expensive and partly because people have no savings left and never learned to save.
Each student has debts for the next 40 years, the chance to get a job is close to zero and we all want to have some luxury in our life. The Internet is a must to contact the government, city, schools force you, no matter if you are hacked.
The technical things partly became true but most will never be realized because it does not fit into the agenda and " pulling I'm in over the ears of the nation" and control is more important.

That sounds very frustrated and depressing how you are describing your or our future.
Some of the things you are telling are the peoples own fault, and some, if they ever come, are the fault of the society and the government.

It's on us to make our own lifes better, to make the best of it we can, never mind the (bad) behaviour of other people or the government or anybody else.

!BEER

@johannpiber In the end it is always your own fault how you end up. But there is a limit to what people can afford too.
I changed my house for a smaller old one with not enough room(s) for us, less costs. We set a limit on what we can buy for food, hardly buy anything and sit in the cold and get nuts if we used again more electricity although we sit in the dark, have no dishwasher, dryer, etc. We check it each month or more frequently since 20 years.
I changed my car for a smaller one and only drive if it is necessary. It is less insurance, road taxes and pity enough I need it.

What we have to pay for living (rent, gas electricity, taxes) takes 90% of my income if not more and I not even have loans or debts.

The question is what to do if I have nothing left to eat (we are not even talking about cclothes, shoes, going out, hairdressers, giving a birthday party etc that is from a long past ago, over 10 years now).

The only thing I can do is move and get rid of the car but that I cannot do before the youngest two are adults and/or finished school and hopefully they find a job.

What I have is enough for 1 person, the minimum and we live from it with four. I think I am lucky. Not one of us has a long wishing list or waste money. It makes life easier for sure.

I wish you a great day and hope 2020...the future, will bring more people some good.

Your words, or better said the meaning of your words becomes worse and worse each time you write @wakeupkitty.

I hope in reality it is not as bad as my imagination not shows me the pictures of your life.

What more can I say, but that I feel sorry that you have to live that way, and once again, that I am very lucky to live here?
I do hope, that the year 2020, which already is a happy number will make us all happy @wakeupkitty 👍🙂
