Waterfall in Autumn / Wasserfall im Herbst

There's not much water, but the Autumn colors are beautiful.

Da ist nicht viel Wasser, aber die Herbstfarben sind wunderschön.

When I drove home from Slovenia last weekend, I made a little detour and drove over the Windische Höhe from the Gailtal to the Drautal.
The Waterfall Stockenboi had relatively little water again, but the trees were beautifully yellow and orange colored.

Unfortunately, it was quite windy, which is why the leaves of the trees have become a bit blurry at the relatively long exposure time.

Leider war es ziemlich windig, weshalb die Blätter der Bäume bei der relativ langen Belichtungszeit etwas verschwommen geworden sind.

I thought, it was a photo exhibition - so, they had camera gear too? I think, I remember that you have been talking of buying a wide angle lens.
Would be cool to see the new Canon RF lenses, but I'd better not look, because I might not leave empty handed 😉

Ohh yes it was all gear related canon had I big area setup with presentations as well as the chance to get hands on the gear as did the others

Sony wasn’t there strangely enough

I have just seen you post about the exhibition - that first shot is great 🙂
I wanted to buy such a LumeCube a while ago, but then I have found my much cheaper LED light, which does it's job very well for me. That doesn't mean, that I wouldn't buy one, if I would get one in my hand ;) lol

Cheers, I know the first shot had nothing to do with the rest of the post but I like to include one camera photo at least to start the post with, I get what you mean about the Lume Cube, I may well have got one or the Litra Torch if both had been there, an LED torch is good but these are so small and handy with what you can do with them, I may well get one some day

This first photo is great, the others are illustrating your story very well :)

I have seen these lights on Youtube and I am quite sure to buy one some day, but as you wrote in another reply, with the age comes the common sense, and I think, my LED light is enough for me. I will have to hold it in my hand and try it out. The size is a good reason to buy too ... maybe next year ;)

Thats what I liked about it very light and feels nice inthe hand, what stopped me buying the Lume Cube 2 is it doesnt have the magnet which the Lita does and would be so handy at times, also it comes with some useful extras with it whereas you need to buy those with the Lume

!BEER

Right, and both are a lot smaller than my LED thing. But I think, I'll use it further on for a while and see, which new light inventions will come next year, which might be better than the Litra and the Lume or make them cheaper ;)

Thank you so much ... I can imagine that you would like to be at this waterfall, if your weather is like you say.
Such a cool and refreshing waterfall in the mountains is can be very nice when the weather is so dry and dusty, as you say, Ross.
I can give you only a cool virtual !BEER to help ;)

Good morning Ross ... I know it's deep night for you ;)
Let's hope, that the Steem rises, so that I can fly somewhere to a beautiful beach with huge waves to photograph, and you can travel the world to see all the places you want 🙂
Have a good night and a great Sunday 🙂

i remember my high hopes when i got here - almost 2 years ago now. Not just for me but for everyone and thinking i could be a contribution to people and that i might really be able make a small difference in the quality of their lives. I've gotten sidetracked from that... ohhh...

To be honest, when I joined last year I thought, I could just upload some photos and earn big money - I didn't earn anything.
I had to work a lot on my postings and I have also invested some money, and now my photos make a few SBD every day. I'm having much fun here, and I like to post my photos, but as long as the Steem price is so low I can only see it as a nice hobby, which takes most of my free time.

Your photos are seen, not only by me, and people like them. I love to see these waves and the surfers and the beach - I've told you this before. I and so many people don't have a beach nearby and we all like to see and dream of holidays at the sea :) ... you're making a difference, and if we all believe in the Steem and in our work here, we all will make a difference and we even might get some profit one day ... I can only hope.

But the most important thing is to have fun and show all the people around the world your life and where you live.

A bit blurry because of the wind, but I must admit, that the colors of the autumnal colored leaves came out great on the photos 😉

Yes, they are so small and to be honest, when I was there I haven't realized that these were shells at first either ;) But then that smell came into my nose and I have seen what smelled so strange, just as spoiled fish stinks ;) lol

oh, the shells smell bad! I didn't think about that. Are they refilling the lake yet?

0

Yes, they all died, because the lake was dry. I do think, they are refilling the lake, but I haven't been up there again. Maybe if the weather is good I'll go for a walk next week or so.

!BEER

That's a great looking lake, they did a good job with that. Except when it's crowded with people, people mess up the scenery.

0

avatar

Yes, the lake is beautiful and it is surrounded by a forest, which makes it a very beautiful area to hike and relax in the nature. People are a problem though, and what you say is completely right, of course. But I cannot tell people to stay at home, because I want to walk around the lake, and I cannot tell the children not to have fun and laugh loud ;) So, I have to live with the people, I try to avoid them whenever I can though ;)
... and I love children laughing 🙂

!BEER

Oh you love children laughing. For a moment I thought you were one of these people who doesn't like kids unless they are his own. lol..lots of us are like that. Well, your system of going very early in the morning usually avoids most of those pesky people.

0

Oh, I meant I love my kids laughing, but I hate the others ;) lol

Children are children and if they are loud and laugh, run around and make noise, then they are still children and I would never mind, as long as it's not too much, if you know what I mean ;)

And if I need silence I will always find a place where I can be alone 🙂

Just make sure you grab your camera if you do, no one has ever gotten a clear photo of him! How do you carry your camera when you are hiking?

0

You may be sure, that my camera will be ready within seconds. I carry my camera depending on the path. Sometimes in my hand, sometimes mounted on the tripod over my shoulder, but always ready to shoot.

I thought maybe you carried it on a strap around your neck. But maybe only tourists do that.

0

No, I do have a strap, but I have never used it on my camera. I have such a strap: https://www.peakdesign.com/collections/straps/products/cuff or I use their Capture clip to have my hands free (https://www.peakdesign.com/products/capture/) ... but no long camera strap, where the camera hangs and swings around 😉

!BEER

Oh I like that capture clip, that way it doesn't swing everywhere like you said, very good. Hey is that you in that photo on that page? It looks like the Austrian mountains?

0

That clip is very useful, when you need both hands to climb or to do other things, because the camera is accessible within 2 seconds.

No, that's not me - my beard is gray ;) lol

It is a very practical invention, I would have to use one if I was hiking with a camera!

Yes, it is really very prctical and I like it, when I go climbing or need free hands for other reasons :)

!BEER

yeah like wrestling with the Big Foot, that takes two hands!

I would not get too close to Big Foot, because I can imagine he smells worse than a goat ;)

!BEER

Ha! that is very true. Of all those accounts they always say that he comes with a stench, or horrible smell! lol.

0

So, I might smell him before I can see him - then I could hide and take some photos 🙂

!BEER

0

avatar

That is right sir johannpiber! If you smell something horrible then try to get off the path and hide and see if something shows up. lol. Because no one has gotten him yet in a clear picture. Those photos would be worth millions.

But, from everything I've heard, they hate cameras so you would have to run like crazy after you take the pictures!

0
0
0.000
avatar

This means, I will take my long lens with me, if I go to an area, where I might meet a Big Foot. With this lens on my camera I can take photos from far away, and if he comes to me I can take the lens for self defense 😉

!BEER

lol..the lens is so big you can use it like a club! Well I hope it does not come to that but if it does, I hope your camera survives so we can see those pictures. lol.

Would be quite bad if the camera broke and I would lose the memory card with lots of sharp photos of Big Foot and his family, wouldn't it? lol

lol..yes, that would be a nightmare! You would have to say goodbye to that big mansion and property after having it in your hands.

I think, I should make some additional photos with my smartphone, which will automatically be transfered to my cloud. That way he can have my phone too - maybe I can call him then if he doesn't eat it ;) lol

!BEER

lol! That's great planning sir johannpiber, now you just have to remember that if you see him, most people don't think about getting photos because they freeze in terror.

To be honest, I think I would freeze too ;) lol

!BEER

I don't know, most people do not think about photographing one because they don't think they will ever see one. However, you talking about it may make you react automatically because of all the dollar signs that you see. lol.

Maybe, but maybe I'll run as fast as I can without looking back when I smell something really bad in a forest ;) lol

!BEER

What about getting a photo? I think you could run as fast as you can for a little while, then get behind a big tree and look around with your camera ready!

That's an idea - this is what I will do if I smell something very bad in the woods: I will run and hide behind a tree and smell if that bad smell comes closer ... and then take a photo big my big lens ;)
