New edits from archived shoots w/ @vintagevandalizm!

I’m still trying to break the habit of starting my blog posts with “Hey, Steemit!”. So, in the effort of changing those habits, good evening, SteemPeak! I’m feeling somewhat off balance. It’s ironic to me that for the longest time, I felt like I wasn’t able to find a routine that enabled me to consistently post daily. I was always getting ready for a big trip, or just coming back. I’ve had the last few months off other than visiting @roadscape, and it’s now Steemit that’s disrupted me rhythm. Alas, there’s some disruption in my life, but that’s okay. I always managed to get through it.

Tonight, I decided to go back in the archives and dig up photos of my friend Jasmin Rodriguez, otherwise known as the vintage fashion blogger, @vintagevandalizm. Yes, she’s on the blockchain, although only for a few posts. I met her in the spring of 2014. Every year, there’s a massive convention held in Las Vegas called Viva Las Vegas. Over 10,000 people from all over the world, completely dressed like it was the 1940’s and 1950’s. As a photographer in this scene, I go every year, booking somewhere between 15 - 30 shoots over the course of one week.

I was introduced to Jasmin and we agreed, the opportunity for us to shoot together was too good to pass up. Our first shoot was at our mutual friend, Ralph’s. A beautiful midcentury modern home in Paradise Palms, NV. In the back, he has a Speakeasy that’s become notorious for wild parties. From there, we’ve shot together in the deserts of Nevada, and even submerged in the Colorado River. Jasmin’s creativity for wardrobe and shoot concepts are limitless, and the images we’ve created together have certainly defined most of our careers.

It’s been a nice reminder of how far I’ve come, and the friendships I’ve made along the way. Jasmin really is one of, if not the best friend I’ve made in this rockabilly scene. She’s stood by me through some difficult times. She’s finally grown from blogger, to model, to know entrepreneur. She launched her own business last year, incorporating her art and design skills with a new brand, appropriately named, Vintage Vandalizm. You can check it our on the company website, www.vintagevandalizm.com

So happy for Jasmin, going from from blogger, to model, to known entrepreneur as well, it's definitely not an easy feat, the shots are stunning and since you're well accustomed to Aussies is she an Aussie too? Seems she's cut her teeth in the US.

She's some real talent! And obviously that wouldn't have been shown without the great photography skills you've got. :) <3
