What is steemit?

Hello

_MG_7857_Edited_resize.JPG

Few weeks ago I realized that this ventilation sign on back of my backpack is same as steem logo. Then this question came to my mind: Who has designed this logo? (if anyone has actually spent time to design it and not copying it from somewhere)
Though somehow it matches the purpose of this social media (any social media in fact). It IS a "ventilation system". Let's take a look at dictionary:

Untitled.png

The third meaning: To express your opinions or feelings about something.

Is steemit a ventilation system for you?

I think of it as obvious that Steemit is not a ventilation system for me or many others like me who have already left. That basic logo without the colors I have seen many times in regards to vapor, so appropriate for Steem which is a vapor, but hardly an original idea.

Now there is a technical eye for you!
There was me thinking they were fork marks, like I draw in the mashed potato of a shepherd's (or in my case the vegetarian version I call shepherdess's) pie. And the connotations that gives..... just doesn't bare thinking.

My lines would be far more ventilatilatory than in this picture. Cooking is a great way to blow of excess steem for those who have to eat alone (or as good as when a child mainly wolfs down and departs).
(Not sure how I'd make my Shepherdess lines these days: maybe sheet smooth?)

I hope this platform was something we could count on. I haven't invested in steem, so I don't feel bad about all the changes, but it's hard go not care when you have invested your money and time in it.

it is more than a ventilation system, it's also where we learn and try to make an honest living

Learning and honest living, doesn't come from this system, but from one's attitude. We see many make money here with no effort, and many many more can't make a living with all their effort.

You have an astute eye. OV seems to have an even astuter eye! I had never thought to think of vapour and ventilation: but obvious it is now it has been mentioned. And not very original, either. But good/financially successful marketing seldom is. Coca Cola I think contained coca(ine) at one stage (if it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck, you might as well call it a duck).

Needless to say, I get where you are headed with your coincidental observation: on the ventilation part of steemit, I would agree with what you are insinuating (that we are all quite vapid and self-obsessed here, which is integral to the expression of "ventilating" when it comes to self-expression ) - minus the instances of OV, you, KL and me, who each have our own specific aim which has very little to do with "getting things off our chest" purely for therapeutic reasons.

We are less seeking to be heard and appreciated, unless in your case it might mean some financial gain, or in OV's case some awareness for new (or old but undervalued) talent. I think we all have in common that we are seeking some kind of connect which means one has to give something of oneself in the hope of getting something in return. Is this ventilation? It does have to contain some kind of genuine emotion or engagement. Was your roadtrip ventilation? No, I would say not, eventhough there was a lot of personal experience and uncensored emotion shared.

On the whole not a lot of lung effort is made by any of the four I mentioned, who spend many hours on crafting the end product/post. But I would say that the vloggers do tend to over-ventilate (seldom having any carefully crafted content, which I would juxtapose ventilation with). And there are those who ramble on about absolutely anything just to fill a post; what is easier then, than finding something to be bothered or excited about?

You of course, my special friend, do very little ventilating at all, ever. Keep it that way! For it renders you mystical and poetic, much to our delight. However, prithee, might I request a blog on what YOU think what Steemit is for?

Sometimes I want to post more, express my self more, post about little things, but I find no point in posting them. But on the other hand, I don't want to feel lazy, posting once every week. Which brings us to another paradox that needs balancing.

Good that you gave me a reason to post more, now I'm thinking which of my photos matches that topic.
