A Day In The Woods

Some weeks ago when there were still some leaves on the trees I decided to go for a walk in the woods

The last days of autumn are really special as the leaves turn a yellowish brown here and one can feel winter around the corner. The earth is thick with layers of leaves of al sorts of trees. The most common trees here include oak, beech, maple and birch.

Entering the woods without a path is something special. Of course you have to be careful not to disturb or harm nature, but traveling through the woods in this way feels much more grounded and pleasant (if there isn't a lot of undergrowth...)

And then quite unexpectedly, I saw a whole swarm of insects flying above the ground - a sign that it was still quite warm and these insects embraced this opportunity to live.

Zooming closer reveals an almost ethereal touch - Alive in the ether.
