How I Photographed This Pink Earrings

Shiny objects are often difficult to capture in detail.

Awhile back my wife ordered some earrings from an online store. They are cheap, nothing too fancy and delivery was actually super fast. I was looking at them and decided to setup a photo shoot for it.

I am not experienced in still photography but just wanted to get a feel of it. After all practice makes perfect.

I setup my table near the window for the strong natural light, drew the white curtain to a close to mimic a giant softbox. Large white paper on the table top for a white background and a small white paper opposite the window to act as a reflector to cover the little shadows in the opposite direction.

Put a glass bowl on the table and hang the two earrings at the edge of the bowl. Camera secured on a tripod and tried very hard to make still the two earrings. Managed to get a shot where the front earring does not overlap the one at the back. This shall be my keeper.
