Why does no one control Podcasting? Because its a protocol.

Neither apple nor spotify can control podcasting, and its not because they don't want to. Its because podcasting was created as a protocol, and as such cannot be 'owned'.

Check out this link by @brianoflondon for more historical information.

One of the main developers behind the podcast protocol is Adam Curry of No Agenda and Moe Factz, who is now working on 'Podcasting 2.0' at Podcast Index .ORG.

This is great, I like podcasting. I have heard over the last months how these new podcasting 2.0 applications allow art to be embedded into the podcast stream, make it incredibly easy for anyone to add chapters, divisions, subtitles, search, etc. And they are working on 'streaming payments'. What I didn't realize, is that HIVE is already being baked into the pudding of Podcasting 2.0 protocol!

Here we can see @rishi556 helping @brianoflondon change the world

}); can change the world.

Protocols are more powerful than services. Yes everyone must agree on a protocol, but actually that seems pretty easy. Someone must maintain a protocol perhaps, but again, all around the internet are honest dudes and dude-ettes that make things run, often despite of the best efforts of our corporate-tech overlord's constant 'updates that break stuff'.

Protocols are just an agreement over where the });s have to go to make it work. Protocols are not End User License Agreements nor are they Terms of Service. They are just agreements about where to put the brackets. Inside the brackets, its a whole new layer of Free Speach.

Apple and Spotify make lists. If they want to add or remove anyone from their lists, they can. But under a protocol, they have no say over who can use the protocol. Anyone who puts the brackets in the right place can publish their podcast and appear on the index, whether or not they are removed from any private list.

An honest, non-violent informational protocol - we are fighting on the front lines of human geopolitics right now!

I don't know if I am taking this too far, but it seems obvious to me that this type of development, solution-based development instead of reactionary protesting, is also promoting peace in the world.

I don't like what is being shown on the TVs around the world any more than the rest of you, but I am not going to throw rocks, I'm going to keep building and supporting the builders. I won't start a fire, let's build profitable, value-adding businesses instead!

There are smart solutions to all of our problems, I will have to write a post about how 'Agroforestry Systems' are just part of an agricultural protocol designed to limit pests and erosion.

As things are improving, which is what humans do by the way, improve things by means of discoveries and inventions, technology like HIVE is going to become very useful as all these new technologies, discoveries and inventions begin to layer together into a peaceful, protocol-based planet. Lots of other, older, less-efficient systems will float by the wayside, because we won't need them any more.

Freedom and Friendship!

Yes it is awesome. I heard during one of the podcasts I listen that the protocol makes it tough to control and the only problem you need to worry about is a web hosting service. So technically, they could work on getting your hosting service to drop you but the platform itself can't do anything.

I didn't know about all the new features that worked on podcasts and that HIVE was involved so thanks for the information.
