Too Over

Time always
changes everything.

For the better?
For the worse?

Who knows?
Who even cares
anymore.

My heart,
too tired to feel.

My arms,
too empty to reach.

My arrows
too broken to fix.

This black cloud
that is
my life...

Will pass...

Like everything...

Just as time
always does.

This is a poem that I wrote on Sept 10, 2011... found recently in an old notebook. (Fallout fans might recognise the game's influence in the opening line..)

The poem was written on a scrap of paper that I'd tucked inside the notebook and filed away many moons ago. Instead of leaving it there and risking that I might actually lose it, I decided to give it a permanent home, here on my blog.

At the time of writing, I was in a very bad place and life wasn't much fun but when I read it today, it's really interesting to be able to look back on that time now and see how far I've come and how much I've grown.

And while that cloud still casts a shadow over my life every now and then, I'm proud to say that it's not so black anymore.

Although, having said that, it doesn't appear to have a silver lining either ;)
