Each begins the same
Each begins the same
The night sky fell dark and deep
as the stars turned on one by one.
And in a fit-filled, fevered sleep
dreams of new possibility begun.
Taking breath with eyes shut tight
toward monsters behind the door.
Yet even when removed from sight
fear grips the heart evermore.
To nightmare dreams may fast turn
and drive brave to cowering shell.
Control comes in the power to learn
experience own still if owned hell.
Taking charge of life's worst dream
to know what means fully fought.
Waking in the mid of midnight scream
and the costs of hard lessen taught.
The light comes on before the dawn
while the stars are still shining bright.
And with stretch and wide the yawn
another starts with promise of might.

It almost seems better that I am reading this on the early morning here because I can not sleep ... Again. Instead lie awake thinking of the past and future and of dreams.
My daughter's fever came back hard last night, so I was up until 3 and then up for work before 7. I wrote this last night on the phone but didn't have the energy to format it or get a picture. Hoping I get some sleep-in time over the weekend, but I have been hoping for that for 3 years already :D
I remember many sleepless mornings and weekends. All worth it. ☺️ Although it is one of the reasons I get up early now, to enjoy that silence before the Chaos.
I have good quality earplugs when I really need some space :D

I recognize the feelings within this poem of too little sleep and our minds over thinking and turning turns the dark, nicely written @tarazkp x
Thanks. It is all too common for many these days, something about the processes of life we have now perhaps.
The fear of what lives within the darkness. Nocturnal predators and vampire like bugs. Lol. Lovely poem thank you for sharing @tarazkp
Fear of the dark is the fear of the unknown and the uncertainty of what could be lurking. Even in ones own home, the darkness can incite fear - strange isn't it?
