Shipping Container Numbers - An Interesting Photo Subject
I Happened To Notice ..
Some old and slightly pealing numbers on a shipping container yesterday. As I was sitting on the couch at the end of a long day and resting my bones, I played around with the single photo. Out of that photo, I made several interesting ones. I don't know why, but I was drawn to the number seven. Was I feeling Lucky? Possibly. I thought that this particular number, out of the set, was the most interesting because of the curl at the edge of the sticker. There was just enough curl to make it interesting.
This is the whole set of numbers, as they appeared on the container
I Have to admit, I rather like the zero as well. It's the only number that has a small black outline, which makes it a bit unique. The small area at the top of the number, is pealing back as if a bullet wash shot through it. Couple that with a jagged crack down the middle, and we have a pretty cool number zero! I have to be honest, it sounds weird when I write that. But the picture is cool.
The 7 Stole The Show ..
Like I said, I was drawn to the seven, so that's what I spent most of my time on playing around with. Here are a few interesting combinations that I came up with. I am thinking that at least one of them may appeal to you.
First up is me paying homage to a series of movies you may be familiar with..
"The name? Bond, James Bond." Who was your favorite 007 agent? Both Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan are mine.
So your not into Bond movies but into playing the slots. I have that combination for you as well. 777 is something I've never hit at the casinos, but then again, you have to actually play in order to win.
The next several pictures are just random organizations of the seven and the zero. A few of them look pretty neat.. so enjoy!
I Am Guessing Your ..
Either Board or Excited bu this point, so I am going to end this weird take on numbers. I suppose my morsel of advice is, If your looking for some unique or interesting art photography, open your mind and your eyes. When you do open them, you may be surprised to learn that there are subtle, yet neat things are in our everyday environments worth a photo or two!
Thank you for swinging by my blog and checking out the post. Have a great day!

About Me ~ The Artist
My art work incorporates a wide variety of subject matter, including landscape, seascape, cityscape, and still life images. My works are the product of a continuing process of exploration through which I seek to portray personal and visionary interpretations of my surroundings. My paintings are impressions of places and events from everyday life, an interpretation of my imagination, and personal responses to what I see and feel on a daily basis. More recently I have invested generous amounts of time into my landscape painting. I am surrounded by natural and man made beauty, which inherently presents itself in the tri-state area, and almost demands that I paint it.
Not everything is art. Art is not everything, but it comes close. Art is everywhere and all the time. Art makes you experience the beauty of the world, the people in it, and the places we call home. Art itself is so influential that it can tell stories, show feelings, and express passion or fury. Art exists in addition to language; expression of sensations and thoughts, revealing a way of thinking too subtle and delicate for words.
For me art requires love, honesty and perseverance. In return, it reveals some personal, non-analyzable, and creative untamed passion. For the public, art with its magnificent beauty, improves mood and health and builds better human beings and communities. It engages the intellect, softens the heart, strengthens the soul and frees the spirit.
