STEEMY STUFF - Never a dull moment on our blockchain!
Well damn it has been an event-filled week, both on and off the blockchain for me…. I kicked off my Friday with surgery, although that was almost a “no go” as I arrived at the hospital only to be told that there had been no surgery scheduled for me… I think the “don’t talk bloody sh!t to me” look on my face lit a few firecrackers and within minutes the confusion had been cleared and off to surgery I went. I woke up feeling, how do I put this… EXTREMELY happy haha! I was on a total drug induced high as I apparently rattled off compliments and declarations of love to the surgeons and their assistants, lol.
Needless to say, I remained on cloud nine for the remainder of the day and to be quite honest… for a naturally anxious individual I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed feeling completely relaxed! I really didn’t have a care in the world! I could easily have juiced that for a little longer lol – but sadly it was all but a distant dream once I woke up this morning lol. But, the surgery went well, so I was very relieved about that and so now I shall spend the rest of my weekend relaxing and recouping whilst I carry on with my shenanigans here!
And on that note – what an exciting week it has been here on Steem!! First and foremost, My Power House Creatives Community and I launched our #mysteemstory initiative which as many of you will have noticed… temporarily took over the Steem and Twitter feeds haha – it was a beautiful sight to behold!
At the time of writing this post, the count of participants was sitting at 77 Steemians (and climbing) which is pretty damn awesome! If you have not jumped on board yet… PLEASE DO! It is a great way to learn about other people's experiences on the Steem blockchain. It is also a fantastic collection of posts for newbies to read as they all act as a sort of "first hand guide" – and then last but not least it is a super fun way to play your part in promoting our fantastical blockchain! JOIN THE “MY STEEM STORY” INITIATIVE HERE
At pretty much the same time that we rolled out the MASS of “My Steem Story” posts, it was also announced that Steem communities had gone live on Steemit. That in itself was pretty damn exciting, but (in my humble opinion) this news was trumped shortly after by the @steempeak team when they made the announcement that Steem communities and a truckload more had gone live on their front end too! Now, this is not meant to be any kind of promo for Steempeak, although I realise that it is going to come across that way regardless…
If you have not yet explored using SteemPeak as an alternative or addition to Steemit – then you really are missing out! The user experience is on a whole new level of awesome! You can check out their announcement post HERE
And then – in the biggest news of all!!! I got to enjoy a celebratory glass of wine yesterday for the first time since I decided to collapse and face plant the restaurant floor Thursday before last haha! It was goooood, although it didn't last very long, as I was so damn exhausted from everything that I collapsed into a heap on my bed shortly after. I may attempt this again tonight lol!
I woke up this morning at 4am sparrows and my head was just reeling! I have so many exciting Steem ideas doing gymnastics in my head and I cannot wait to get the ball rolling on all of them! - Definitely seem to have gotten a bee under my bonnet lately haha - not that I am complaining! Speaking of which... one of the little birdies in my head needs some info from you... so if you wouldn't mind giving your feedback on THIS twitter poll, I would be most grateful :)
Back to the Steem stuff...
Whilst lying in bed with the birds from my garden and on Twitter... I also stumbled across a really cool new "Community of the week" contest which has been kicked off by @pennsif. Being a veteran of post surgical episodes, I truly empathize.
And I was lucky.
Unlike many of my buddies in the same situation, I managed to NOT get hooked on pain meds.
