There were other somewhat important things that happened today such as the official end of the Cold War being announced by Gorbechev and Bush and the first human heart transplant but I think we can all agree that potatoes are probably a bigger part of our daily lives.

Quiet Thoughts on a Quiet Day... About Quiet and Stillness

I think most people will agree that we live in a fast-paced and often noisy world. Of course, the idea of "noisy" means different things to different people. I happen to be an introvert, and I am also very sensitive to noise, in the physiological sense of the word. Not only do I not like noise, but my startle reflex has resulted in my being on the butt-end of practical jokes for most of my life.

Piggly Wiggly Country Village Market KwaZulu-Natal South Africa

Situated on a scenic drive we travel part of the way next to the train line with hills is the distance (I love trains), this particular route in KwaZulu-Natal offers lovely scenery along the way. This little country village is situated on the beautiful property of Highgate Wine Estate, yes you can buy some wine and walk through the vineyards.

Thoughtful Daily Post - Best Seasonal Thoughts Contest

The holiday season is upon us in the U.S. This is the time to celebrate until the end of the year various traditions. It's all about family. A few months ago, I redecorated my dining room and needed a picture to hang on one of the walls. I found the most beautiful canvas that literally spoke to me, so I purchased it.
