Winter Indoor Garden

My Winter Indoor Garden

My Basement gets a TINY bit cold! And when I say tiny, I mean, somewhere down to 50ºF (10ºC) or so degrees. So, in the basement, I drape some plastic around my Grow Lights Shelves. On the table above, left, I have a heat mat, under some rectangular pots. Same thing with the top shelf of the right side shelving: A heat mat under the rectangle pot.

On the table, far left, I have growing three kinds of Basil. I cook with it, and am down 2 or 3 times a week cutting some for seasoning my meals. I also have some growing in the kitchen, so, I alternate plants that I cut from. On the left, next to the basil, is a bunch of Oregano growing, also for seasoning. Next to that, growing is one of the plantings of Buttercrunch Lettuce, about 4 weeks old. On the top shelf, right, blasted out by the light, is Arugula growing left, and another planting of Buttercrunch Lettuce, about 10 days old. Bottom Shelf right, is a round pot of Rosemary, growing.

...Get yourselves ready, Gardeners for an upcoming #GroVid22 Challenge!

There will be more details coming soon, but, #dreemport is partnering with a community, to announce and upcoming #GroVid22 Challenge. I don't want to spoil the surprise, but STAY TUNED FOR MORE GROWING GOODNESS!

Happy New Planting and Cheers,
BluefinStudios

Always, I strive to give back
To the animals and birds around me
to put more plants in than I take out
And be a good steward for the world around me!

I've been wondering whether to start some indoor gardening, but for summer, rather than winter, when is too hot for lettuce outside, but salad is all you want to eat, because it's too hot for people as well!

So true! Lettuce truly does not like HOT days.
If you have space and its cooler indoors, sure!

In theory I should be able to find space, but actually clearing out junk in order to is another story.

Really well done! This was the first article I've seen on this subject and you made everything very clear, simple, and straightforward. Thank you, 10 stars!

do you wear a glow in the dark shit when you go down there?

you also need some cool posters!! a couch and a blanket and you will be all set........maybe some vinegar and oil?

Very cool set up you have going on and not a weed in sight :D

UHM.... what EXACTLY do you think I compost or fertilize with?

On a serious note, we get water down in the basement, about once a month, so, no cool lounge down there.
