Are you a vindictive person?

We humans tend to forget about the good things other people have done for us for a long time, but we harbor anger and resentment when people do to us something we consider bad for us, and we consequently become a vindictive person.

Even if you say you're not vindictive, you are!

When we are subjected to a situation where we were actually purposefully harmed by someone, we want to give them the right to retribution, right?

Even worse is when your greatest joy is seeing who screwed you up going wrong... You can notice when something doesn't go the way you wanted, you tend to get angry quickly, and forget most of the good things others have done to you and you just remember something you think is bad and you tend to get angry and become a vindictive person more easily.

Revenge in turn is extremely common, but it has its dark side, and this will start with the fact that it is an intense feeling, and very difficult to control.

Unfortunately, this uncontrollable desire to get revenge often ends up being more harmful for those who carry it with themselves than for the other.

Some time ago they did an experiment in a game:

Each player had an ally, in the experiment the player had to split $10 between him and his friend. The rule said that the ally could accept or deny, if he denied both he would receive nothing.

When he shared half for each, everyone accepted. However some decided to take 8 dollars and give 2 to their ally. Would you accept receiving 2 and the other 8? Of course, the majority denied it, even though logically two is better than 0, everyone felt offended or mistreated and decided to get revenge by denying it.

And you? What you would do ? Would you deny or accept?

There are people who are more angry at people who help a little (when they think they deserved more), than at people who don't.

It makes me think about life, how many times we don't put logic aside and end up being driven by emotion and have financial losses. We have to be grateful rather than ungrateful.
