Poshbot Update

A little over two weeks ago I announced @poshbot, a convenience tool to notify users when someone tweets about their post and help save time for users who want to engage in #posh (Proof of Sharing). You can read more in the introduction post if you don't know how it works.

What sets @poshbot apart is there is no need to use hash tags on Twitter, @poshbot is smart enough to find Hive content across multiple front ends and notify the author.

@poshbot will pick up tweets referencing any of these services.

Introducing OpenHive Chat support

@gtg contacted me and asked if I could add support for OpenHive chat, and I am proud to say it is live and running as we speak. Just check out the #posh channel.

How is @poshbot doing?

@poshbot picks up around 4,500 messages a week. In the first two weeks it has discovered over 9,700 tweets and alerted Hive content creators. I am absolutely blown away by these numbers. More importantly, many of these tweets are not the original authors sharing their own work but other users sharing their work. This was the most important thing to me when creating @poshbot.

@poshbot is quick

I have received a lot of feedback from users amazed at how quick @poshbot picks up their tweet. @poshbot has notified me of a tweet as fast as 2 seconds.

It has been proven as good service already but sometimes I see double reply from @poshbot is there any technical issue? Please suggest.

Got an example? If you see a double reply, it should be more than one person tweeting the post.

I got two tweets.. And then realized the first was my tweet and the second was my post tweeted by another person.. Check it out.. Maybe that is the case..

One my post retweeted by 6 persons then there should 6 comments but I saw only two. I think i use #posh tag when sharing my post in Twitter hence comes double comments. I am not sure 100% although.

I use posh tag too. But the two could be easily accounted for... Six tweets and only two ... Hmm.. That I am not sure.

Besides, I don't think it is the retweet which counts... Because in my case, the other person tweeted my post.. Maybe, that's why two comments for two tweets... and the rest of retweets remained untouched.

Loving seeing when others post my content on Twitter that I wouldn't have known without posh bot so I can be sure to thank them on Hive and on Twitter.

What I love about it is seeing who tweeted your work or vice verse. Neat. Great work.. a nice attention to the experience, after I figured out what it did.

It's a great idea and execution! I absolutely love the poshbot!
Do you think it could be possible for it or for other bots to track other platforms where links are sharing? (like facebook, reddit etc)

Posh is indeed credible and swift.
It updates my tweets before I could even place the links myself.
I really enjoy it.

It replies so fast.
