Hive Top Chef. A wonderful salad with edible flowers - Wild pansy (Viola tricolor)
In this post I will write you how to make a super tasty salad with flowers that you may have in your garden - Wild pansy (Viola tricolor). Other names for this flower are cute:
Johnny Jump up (though this name is also applied to similar species such as the yellow pansy), heartsease, heart's ease, heart's delight, tickle-my-fancy, Jack-jump-up-and-kiss-me, come-and-cuddle-me, three faces in a hood, or love-in-idleness.

I had this flowers with yellow-brown and blue petals. After picking them, I soaked them in water to wash it of dirt.
Wild pansies have many interesting applications:
As some of its names imply, V. tricolor has a long history of use in herbalism and folk medicine, both for epilepsy, skin diseases and eczema, and for respiratory problems such as bronchitis, asthma, and cold symptoms.
It is also a diuretic, leading to its traditional use for rheumatism and cystitis.
The flowers have also been used to make yellow, green and blue-green dyes, while the leaves can be used to indicate acidity.

Here are the ingredients needed to make it:
- Lettuce
- Pear
- Orange
- Mozarella cheese
- Babybel cheese (or other one, choose this one you like)
- Cashews
- Olive oil
- Wild pansy (Viola tricolor) flowers
How to make it
Dice fruit and vegetables and add them one by one. First lettuce.
Add a pear cut into pieces to the lettuce.
Then add the pieces of orange.
In the next step, add the diced cheese.
Then add cashews, olive oil and spices. I added some pepper and salt. Then we mix all the ingredients together.
Finally, add edible flowers. The violets decorated the salad beautifully, and at the same time gave it a wonderful flavor. I love this salad. I hope you will like it too. Of course you can add the ingredients in any order, I showed you how I do it.
