First Queen concert was 50 years ago

Hi,

for this #rockclassics & #metalweekend, I will go back 50 years ago in time. The #tag creators are @uwelang & @detlev.

So, this week, to be more precise on the 28th of June 1970, the legendary band named Queen appeared for the first time on stage.

50 years seem so far, but their music is still actual. I can say, even if Freddie is gone, that they rock.

We need to understand the big step in their sound as one year before, in 1969, Woodstock happened, which seems ages apart from the style. If Freddie wouldn't have parted this world so early, I think they would have brought also now, some new singles that would have been hits. Look at the Rolling Stones as they brought a new single out.

I liked Queen since I was little, because of their melodic sound. It has something classic, something jazzy to it.

So, let's celebrate this great band on this great anniversary!

Great post my friend! Queen is part of Rock history! I personally never was a fan, Freddie not the kind of voice I like but the guitar play of Brian May is brilliant - not many others in that space I like more - apart from my heroes (Mick Jones - Foreigner, Eddie Van Halen...) - resteem...ooops - re-hiv.... - ahem re-blogged

Thank you my friend. I loved Freddie, as an artist and his voice. Well this is my taste, as like some other bands that you might say pass to them. That is the beauty of life, to have different tastes and still be friends, or like Freddie used to sign, friends will be friends..

I have been a big fan of Queen over the years. I saw them live in 84 and 86. My wife and I were also at the Freddie memorial gig at Wembley. They were one of the best live acts I've seen.

Happy for you Steve! I was born in 83 behind the iron curtain, where there was no chance to ever see them. I love their music and grow up with it as my dad managed to smuggle a lot of western music till 1989. Thank you for dropping by,

I'm lucky to have seen a lot of my favourite acts. It must have been tough when music was less available to you, along with the other hardships of course :)
