Is the keyboard you use midi-capable?
If so you might consider to install Grand Orgue on your laptop, or perhaps the free edition of Hauptwerk 4. That last one is not available anymore on the download-page of Hauptwerk, com, but I happen to have downloaded it years ago and I might send it to you.
There are free sample sets available for both Grand Organ and Hauptwerk. So it would cost only a midi interface between keyboard and laptop (and some time to install it all) to get started.

This keyboard is not midi. But midi keyboard will arrive (Vidas helped to order it). So I will need to download Hauptwerk to my laptop

Hello Daniela,

I see in your videos that you are using a small electronic keyboard at home.

I began my use of Hauptwerk 15 years ago with a very basic laptop computer and a single MIDI keyboard with 61 standard sized keys. For some years I had just 1 keyboard and no pedals, but even this was wonderful because of the amazing sounds made by Hauptwerk.

Your computer looks like a PC running Windows. This would definitely need an external audio interface to work with Hauptwerk. Windows' inbuilt audio can't handle it. By contrast, a Mac computer or laptop can handle Hauptwerk audio without any additional hardware.

A suitable inexpensive audio interface, a good MIDI keyboard and some quality headphones added to your laptop would make a big difference to your home practice.

The Hauptwerk Installation and User Guide comes with each Hauptwerk installation.

The guide contains suggestions for audio interfaces.

More advice can be found on the Hauptwerk Forum.

I have had good results from Behringer UMX-610 keyboards, but unfortunately these are no longer made. However it may still be possible to buy them from places which still carry old stock.

Some MIDI keyboards, including the Behringer UMX-610, can connect directly to a computer by USB. This would be a feature to look for, otherwise you would need a MIDI interface too in order to connect a keyboard using MIDI instead of USB.

Good luck with your organ and violin studies.

Best wishes,

Andrew Grahame (in Sydney)
