February 21, 2020--Practice Blog

As it has been a long week, I spent more time getting things together than practicing today. I prepared my first class which has one person in it and, 15 minutes before said class, got an email from student saying they were not going to make it. Sigh. So, I did some personal stuff during the class time and prepared my second class on Wagner and his operas (we watched the opening of Act 3 from Die Walkure). A student did introduce me to some new music which sounded like a mixture of Spanish flamenco guitar playing, Tejano, and American rap but in Spanish. Catchy. Finished a little early, which was great as my dog had a grooming appointment in the afternoon. It is her birth month, so we treated the groomers to chocolate cupcakes. I went to the church to practice. Was in the middle of a piece and went to sleep. So, I canceled the rest of my day after I picked up Meg from the Groomers.

On the organ, I worked on Bach's BWV 620. It needs attention today as I am planning on playing it for Prelude tomorrow morning and it is still on the rough side. Going to try to record for Secrets of organ playing contest but may have to postpone until next weeks contest.
