June 16. 2020--Practice Blog in the time of the virus

Another eventful day. After breakfast, I tried to quickly get out of the house to practice organ. Unfortunately, I met with a friend and conversed (socially distanced) for about 45 minutes before getting the opportunity to practice. I was able to get two hours of practice. Came home and had lunch before putting some more time into piano practicing. Had a zoom meeting for a potential candidate for a choir position, and then enjoyed some time on the back porch with my dogs. Some more practice time on the piano before beginning to work on chicken thighs and corn for dinner. We finished the day off with dinner and Star Wars: Rebels.

On the organ, I worked on the sixth movement of the Mass of the Convents, and ran through the previous five movements. I also worked on the fingering and speed of on Kauffmann's chorale prelude on Herr ich habe Missgehandelt. Continued slow practice on Bach's BWV 635, Guilmant's Magnificat Op 41 No.2, and Hindemith's Second Sonata, first movement.

On the piano, I worked through some of Mark Hayes' arrangements and another setting of a popular hymn tune for Sunday. I also worked on Sibelius Op. 24 No. 9, Chopin's Op. 34 No. 2, and a handful of pieces I'm trying to memorize.
