Secrets of Organ Playing Contest Week 92 submission--Herr Christ, der ein’ge Gottes-Sohn, BWV 601 from Orgelbuchlein by J.S. Bach
Once more unto the Orgelbuchlein, my friends. This was a fun chorale prelude to learn with it's almost motoric 16th note motion that shifts back forth between the hands and the pedals, creating a wonderful sense of forward momentum. I love the joyfulness, the exuberance to this work. And then the chorale tune simply floats above it. Plus, it allowed me to open up the swell box with the Trumpet 8' stop in the pedals...A nice little gem to add to the permanent repertoire.

One of my favorites of the collection. The reeds in the pedal give a nice punch!
