September 11, 2020--Practice Blog in the time of the virus

Kind of a hectic day, but enjoyable. It began with taking my elder dog in for a vaccination. Turns out they didn't have any of his other vaccinations on file, so we got four. And a heart worm test. He was not a happy camper, but still snuggled with me on the ride home. Practiced on the home organ for an hour before going to work and tuning a piano. Finished about 20 minutes before choir started, so I was able to get some piano practicing done. A funeral for a Masonic brother occurred today and I left choir practice early so I could get to it. Took a lot longer than expected, but it was a good send off. Came home and recorded a lecture between giving loving to my dogs. Their barking kept showing up on my lectures, but what can you do. Finished up on Romanticism as a large scale concept and recorded the lecture. Practiced piano before wife got home. Dinner was steak fillets with mashed potatoes and sauteed zucchini. Going to be an early night.

On the organ, I worked on the First Sanctus from the Mass for the Convents by Couperin (recording above) and prepared a prelude and postlude for Sunday. Unfortunately the organ I will be playing on Sunday will be without pedal board (due to a sypher). So, Manuals only.

ON the piano, I practiced an accompaniment for the choir and then spent time working on the memory for the three movements of Beethoven's Op. 10 No. 2, and the third and fourth movement of Beethoven's Op. 27 No. 1.
