September 16, 2020--Practice Blog in the time of the virus

Today was a travel day. I went to the Chambers Chapel in Boy's Town to practice--1 hour and 45 minutes each way. I got an hour and a half practice on the organ, which doesn't use the pedal board due to a cypher on the lower two pedals. Came home and uploaded video from chapel practice and practiced piano for a couple hours before teaching an online Zoom lesson. The student is coming along nicely, with some encouragement. Afterwards, I sat outside and smoked a cigar while reading a book before dinner. Dinner was leftovers. Watched Red Dwarf Season 9 and 10 for a couple hours while letting a charcoal facemask set up. Now getting ready for bed.

On the organ, I worked on several works for Sunday morning--Prelude, Postlude, and service music. I also worked on Du Mage's Fugue from his Livre d'Orgue and the Second Sanctus from Mass for the Convents by Francois Couperin (recording above).

On the piano, I worked on the first movement of Beethoven's Op. 27 No. 1 and the third and fourth movements of Op. 101.
