The difference is that before this, we did not have any proof that we can survive whereas now we know that if we make the correct choices we will. That is an important difference and should provide us with the incentive to exercise self discipline.

Cassie asked, “Did anyone see a Freddie from the future among those spaceships?” We all confirmed we had not. “I think Freddie was with, but he has changed so much we did not recognise him.” She gave Candy a grin. “You know what thought amazes me? Nearly half a million years from now there will be a six year old Candy in Freddie - I think that’s wonderful!” I guess Candy and Cassie are going to be family-within-family for a while. J

Of course we all wondered how big our family will be by then. Robbie kept quiet while we discussed our various estimates and ideas. He pulled Ashia onto his lap and when there was a momentary lull he spoke to her. “I don’t think Freddie was there.”

She turned to look at him, startled. “Why?”

“According to our loves, Freddie, by that time, will be so huge just to fit our family, that he could not fit within the Sparkler World - despite it being infinite in size.” It is not often that Robbie is the target for so many pillows, but poor Ashia also received a few since he kept his arm around her.

Where certain of us had begun to find the wait for having a child almost unbearable, now all of us are happier about waiting. Other Cherinians soon reported the same changes amongst them and Michael told us that even the Ipohin are now convinced they must not have children at this time.

After the trip we kept the next celebrations simple. The Cherinian Anniversary, the change of year (now PC40), the birthday of Empathia (can you believe she is now twenty three years old Earth time?), the odd wedding anniversary of Latreia since we count the years from the actual date of her wedding and not the years she has been with us. The birthday of Goldi is special and we had a very big party for her. She is now officially thirteen, a teenager!
