This morning sun shine brightly, although usually the afternoon will rain soon. In Indonesia it has entered the rainy season. When I want to clean the yard I suddenly saw an animal that looked like a fly but was very large. This animal perched on a small rock. I rack wasted this opportunity. I took the oppo cellphone and took the picture. After a few shots of this animal immediately flew into the trees. I'm sure he will meet a friend or his life partner.
After finishing I immediately find out this type of animal. I remember this animal has the local name Garengpung. He is usually a sign of the dry season or the coming light. To find out more, I finally opened the internet. Immediately I googling with the keyword garengpung. From wikipedia I know that this animal has live gold as larvae in the soil.

This insect has a pair of facet eyes which are located far apart on its head and usually also have translucent wings. The shape is sometimes like a large fly, although there is a small bucket. The cicadas live in temperate to tropical climates and are easily recognizable among other insects, mainly because of their large body and the extraordinary acoustics produced from sound-producing devices under their wings.

Many cicadas have a life cycle that is influenced by seasons. In Indonesia, the sound of the garengpung cicadas will emerge at the end of the rainy season, when these insects reach adulthood, coming out from under the ground to perform the mating season ritual. Adult moles just emerge from the ground at the beginning of the rainy season. After mating, the female lays eggs on the ground and the insect dies. The cicadas are sometimes mistaken for grasshoppers or large flies, even though they don't have close family ties. The cicadas have a taxonomic close relationship with the plant hopper and the flea.

Thus all my writing this time may useful for all of us.

Thank you for reading my post. I hope you enjoy it.
