La obra está resultando sumamente divertida y sin duda es todo un reto para los actores que están aprendiendo nuevas habilidades pero también encontrando un campo creativo muy amplio: corporalidad, técnicas acrobáticas, voz y creación dramaturgica. Ha resultado un proceso muy completo. No con poca envidia los veo divertirse en el escenario mientras tengo que estar dirigiendo desde afuera, aunque ya estoy un poco viejo para tanta lucha :)

I am not ever sure of how well these words get translated (using Google translate), but it appears you are putting a great deal of effort into this. I hope it all comes together in a way which is both encouraging and professionally satisfying. For you and all of the others!
But certainly you are a good observer @Roleerob, and that curiosity we found late in the process, since Edgar was the last one to integrate to the group, and as he's a professional wrestler at least I knew him only with his battle name or simply as Edgar. He was the one who noticed about our last names recently. But no, we are not family. The last name Canto is very common here in the state of Yucatán. We ended saying each other 'primo' and 'prima' anyway, which is cousin in english!!
In the other hand, Theater requires always a big effort, mainly when you have not "big money". Work, imagination and collective agreement is needed. But when all this is made with love and dedication (and some promotion too) the rewards and much satisfaction will come. In this project we are getting lots of fun too!! :)

... and, in reading this, am reminded of my son, the most artistic of my children. My wife and I got to visit him recently (lives far away in Ohio) and we greatly enjoyed a small production they put together for their community. Very little money was involved (invested in the set, or received by patrons ...), but there was no question that good fun was being had by all ... 👍

I'm very happy to know about your son, it's always exciting to find a colleague who is doing great in this noble art. There's a great theater director, Peter Brook, that said you can watch a great production in the most important theater in the city, all the best actors and in spite of this that Theater is dead. In the same way you can be in the smallest stage or even in some corner of a public square and see a living and vibrant play. A great passion and work is always needed for theater to live.

I left steemit for almost six months, some problems made me to take distance from here, but always missed something, most of all good friends I have "in here". But there's also a big opportunity to learn and get skills here that are needed in my area of work and for many other. I was never aware that I could write like I've been writing in this blog. This practice has helped me a lot to prepare reports, planning my lessons as teacher and comunicate better even through spoken word. Of course there's the incentive of the rewards (at least in the simbolic level of the steem price), but I always try to give value to which I do here in the first place, and do always things that I enjoy. Personally I recognize that I need to improve my visits to other blogs, and in this comeback I'm trying to do so. But time not always is on my side, as you know, however step by step I'm trying to improve relations and to engage.
I will suscribe to the League, of course I don't expect to win, I've seen there's great highly dedicated steemians there. I think it will be interesting to just follow those names and how they perform in every week!! ;)
I'm grateful with you @Roleerob, for share with me experiences, your wisdom and the great opportunities that we can find "in here". Let's see those winds taking us to new landscapes and to a better future as you say!!

Excelente preámbulo. Ya ese perfil psicológico de los personajes habla bastante, bien nutrido cada elemento que hoy nos presentas en el resumen.
La lucha es una de las actividades más demandadas en México tengo entendido. No ha formado parte de mi entretenimiento por el mismo tema cultural. En este sentido, no había puesto interés tampoco en conocer los misterios ocultos detrás de las máscaras . Hoy tuve el placer de hacerlo y me pareció interesante.
Ahora bien, me quedo con una duda, la obra será musical o algo así? Mencionas la coreografía y fue lo que vino a mi mente.
Por el lado de las fotografías te comento que quedaron bellísimas, me atrajo ese color marrón de fondo. Chévere se ven! Espero seguir leyendo sobre los próximos avances.
Hemos querido jugar con ese fenómeno cultural que es la lucha libre aquí en México, sobre todo a iniciativa de Héctor quien siendo estudiante del último año de actuación pertenece a una familia con fuertes vínculos a la lucha libre, como deportistas, promotores, anunciadores y demás oficios que se ligan a este deporte-espectáculo.
Empleo el término 'coreografía' en el sentido de que la lucha libre se compone de movimientos organizados que deben estructurarse y acordarse adecuadamente entre los luchadores. En el teatro estos movimientos coreográficos deben ser generalmente fijos y precisos, a no ser que se hayan sentado las bases de una creación más espontánea. Pero en el terreno de las luchas, los ejecutantes además de planificar deben también dejarse llevar por lo que suceda al momento y en consonancia con la afición, improvisando sobre lo planeado pero siempre en un lenguaje de acuerdos no verbales sobre el cuadrilátero. Podríamos decir que la Lucha Libre tiene mucho de danza y de teatro.

Estuve averiguando el término adecuado que usan los luchadores. Les llaman rutinas.
Mucha mezcla hay de términos en las artes escénicas, efectivamente una coreografía si queremos ser precisos, proviene del lenguaje dancístico. Pero hay trazos o secuencias o movimiento escénico que dado su nivel de coordinación entre actores, tiempo y/o música, algunos llaman coreografías en una pieza teatral. Estas suelen darse no sólo en el Teatro musical, que sería un género teatral específico, en que la expresión verbal tiene que ver en gran medida con el canto. O la Danza-Teatro, coreografías en las que la expresión dramática de los bailarines o bien la dramaturgia del espectáculo cobra gran relevancia (conflicto, línea de acción, personajes y sus relaciones, espacios), incluso la voz hablada podría jugar en estas expresiones dancísticas.
Movimiento del cuerpo organizado y estructurado en la representación, es lo que desde la lucha hasta la escena se va construyendo!

Tienes mucha razón, todo lo que hacen requiere mucha agilidad, fuerza, concentración y decisión. También imaginación y sorpresa son necesarias en cada ensayo para ir construyendo a sus personajes y la puesta en escena.

You are right, these elements become necessary to continue the creative process with the right dimension of the space, the sensation of the floor in which they will perform their movements and of course a good test of the clothes which will be used in a rude manner. All of these we are doing right on time for the debut which is near.

Of course!! :) Much of the wrestling is theatrical, most of all in mexican wrestling, and in this production the characters are wrestlers whose battle-names come from History and Literature. The actors themselves have collectively written the story of each one, but also they are learning some actual wrestling techniques!! All this process has been very enjoyable!!

Of course!! :) Much of the wrestling is theatrical, most of all in mexican wrestling, and in this production the characters are wrestlers whose battle-names come from History and Literature. The actors themselves have collectively written the story of each one, but also they are learning some actual wrestling techniques!! All this process has been very enjoyable!!

Esto me hizo recordar mucho a mi padre que le gustava mucha la lucha, puedo recordaral Esmascarado, Yokosuma, El enterrador...
Entonces tenemos en común que ese gusto lo heredamos, que yo también tengo muchos recuerdos de mi padre y yo disfrutando las funciones sabatinas de Lucha Libre. Ese luchador que mencionas se escucha terrible, seguramente era de los rudos. Voy a buscar algunas fotos para conocerlo!!
