Chapecoense vino a mi mente cuando estaba mirando algunos vídeos de momentos dramáticos en el deporte.
Recordé cuando el siniestro se anunció en los medios de comunicación nacional, los colombianos entramos en total conmoción, aun no creíamos que esta tragedia hubiese sucedido, y menos que fuese en nuestro suelo.
Todo un país entero lloró por largos días esta tragedia. Para la mayoría de nosotros era la primera y última vez que vimos los rostros de estos jóvenes, no obstante, sentimos que todos ellos eran nuestros hermanos del alma.
Chapecoense came to my mind when I was watching some videos of dramatic moments in the sport.
I remembered those moments when the event was announced in the national media, Colombians went into total shock, we still did not believe that this tragedy had happened, let that it was on our soil.
An entire country cried for long days over this tragedy. For most of us it was the first and last time we saw the faces of these young players, yet we felt they were all our soul brothers.

Las sonrisas y camaradería antes y durante el trayecto del vuelo reflejaba cuan felices todos estaban: jugadores, cuerpo técnico, periodistas e invitados. Para estos jóvenes futbolistas los sueños estaban a flor de piel, ya faltaba nada para levantar esa copa de campeones tan anhelada.
Nosotros nunca terminamos de aceptar estas partidas tempranas y mucho menos aquellas que ocurren en forma trágica y que roban vidas en masa.

Mucho se dijo sobre las causas y culpables del accidente, las investigaciones encuentraron irregularidades tras irregularidades. Desafortunadamente ya nada de lo sucedido era reversible y solo quedaron experiencias dolorosas que no sabemos si aportaron algún aprendizaje a los responsables de aquellas fallas previsibles, o si solo quedaron en el olvido.
The smiles and camaraderie before and during the flight reflected how happy everyone was: players, coaches, journalists and guests. For these young footballers, their dreams were on the surface, the cup of champions so long awaited was almost ready to be lifted.
