It was not a dream full debut for Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt as he scored an unfortunate own goal in a pre-season game against Inter Milan this Wednesday afternoon.

Although, Juventus ran out as eventual winners after the penalty shoot-out which was made possible after Ronaldo scored an equalizing goal which made the game to end at 1-1.

This is the first game the 19-year-old defender is starting for Juventus, after coming on as a second-half substitute in a game against Tottenham last Sunday. But it was a start he will be wishing to forget as soon as possible.

He was paired alongside the experienced centre-back Leonardo Bonucci, but just 10 minutes into the game, luck went against him as a ball rebounded off his shin and went into his net.

The build-up that led to the unfortunate goal started from Inter Milan midfielder Stefano Sensi as he whipped the ball in from a corner with the ball getting flicked on from Roberto Gagliardini. And the resulting ball rebounded off De Ligt's shin and went straight into the net, leaving goalkeeper Juventus Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny helpless and unable to do anything to save the situation.
