Brazilian football legend Pele has confirmed that Real Madrid striker Rodrigo is waiting for him with a brilliant future, wishing the success of Cristiano Ronaldo seeking (according to his agent) to exceed his goal of 1,283 goals.

"I hope he will be successful because he has a lot of goals and I hope he is healthy and strong to reach the 1,283 goals we have won," the three-time world champion said in an interview with the Spanish news agency Ronaldo.

Pele, born on October 23, 1940, received the agency's correspondent at the museum bearing his name in Santos.

He confirmed in the interview that he is in good health after the malaise he went through last April, when he remained in hospital for several days for treatment of kidney stones.

Pele expressed concern about Neymar, who said he appeared to be "struggling to cope" and reach previous seasons.
