Kipchoge holds the world marathon world record (42,195km) with a record of 2 hours 1 minute 39 seconds set at the Berlin Marathon 2018, breaking the previous record up to 1 minute 18 seconds. From May 2019, Kenyan runners started training for the goal of running for less than 2 hours, then shook hands with British corporation Ineos to organize and conquer this challenge at the 1:59 Ineos Challenge in Vienna.
