Rexxie Ragnarok : My entry to SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge!

This is my 2nd entry post to the SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! Win Upvotes! Last time, the theme was Pit Orge, an angry brawler coming from the Fire Nation. Post Link.

But this time, another monster has broken the mystic jail of Splinterlands, and he is Rexxie, a devastating entity from the Earth Nation. Generally known for high melee attack and trample skill (if it kills an enemy it will again attack to the enemy next in line).

Most of us have a fantasy and attraction about the ancient creatures that roamed the Earth long before humans came into existence. During the prehistoric world, Dinosaurs were the ruler of mother Earth. According to Google, they roamed around the Earth between about 245 and 66 million years ago, in a time known as the Mesozoic Era.

Among all the Dinosaurs, Tyrannosaurus or T-Rex was the king of them all. In fact, in Latin Rex means King so you can get the vibe! ;)

Known for his unmatched raw melee power, Rexxie was a perfect beast of the Earth Nation. At max level, he carries 12 Health, 4 Speed and 6 Melee attack. Moreover, He has the trample ability that allows him to plant an extra attack whenever he kills an enemy, which is a very important ability to keep in mind.

Now, why Rexxie got forgotten in the Splinterlands universe?

Let us consider 1 thing.... when do you use earth summoners in battlefield? No, don't tell whenever I get Earth quest.

Generally, we choose Earth summoner when we want to create a defensive deck with healing ability. There are some really good heal decks we can form with Earth Summoners. I choose Flesh Golem + Wood nymph or flesh golem + Spirit of the forest most of the time when I play with earth decks. But, I felt that Rexxie + any healing monster is not a very good combo.
Rexxie may have a big pack of health... but he does not carry any other abilities other than trample. Trample is an attack ability and it has nothing to do with defence. When you get water as an opponent, the Rexxie might die at the first turn.

High mana cot is another problem with Rexxie. AT 7 mana, you will trouble yourself placing Rexxie in your deck when mana cap is 13-22. Rexxie is the option for high mana matches, specially the super sneak once, where Rexxie can plant multiple devastating attacks on opponent while saving himself from attacks. So, I have to find a high mana sneak match where I can place my Rexxie in a protective place and he can demolish some of other's giants.

Luckily, soon after the season end I find a suitable match for myself, a 26 mana match with 2 rules - Armored up (+2 armor to every friendly monster) and melee mayhem (melee monsters can attack from any position). My opponent was @dimarius and he was using the legendary death summner Crypt mancer while I was using Earth summoner lynna natura.

My Battle strategy

At 26 mana, I decided to play an all melee match including my Rexxie. Now, possibly what is the best deck I can create out of my non-max cards who can give their best for the victory? Let's see..

1. The Lord!

I choose Lord as the frontier, at lev 4 he can eat up multiple damages from the opponent and give my rexxie. I was quite confidant on my guess that my opponent will use a melee deck, so my Lord may gift some spike damages to them as well.

2. Rexxie

Oh Rexxie, don't be mad at me. Let me put you at the 2nd position as I think this place is the most secure for you. After taking lord and rexxie in a 26 mana match, I have only 11 mana left and also 4 places to fill in my deck. So, feel me man. :)

3. Screeching Vulture

At the third position, I choose my new member, the screeching vulture lev 8 GF. I was trying to make a good sneak deck with my earth cards and that's why I bought him some days ago. I just hope he stays in the middle and increases some health while other monsters die on the battlefield.

4. Brownie

At 1 mana, what can you possibly get? Yes, you can get a brownie! I choose brownie at the 4th position as he is offering me +1melee power for every friendly monster and +1speed too. BRAVO! You are in Browny!

5. Hobgoblin

I don't know why, but hobgoblin is on my favourite list when it comes to melee mayhem matches as he has 3 melee power with double strike ability. He can perform some high damage and also can save himself with that extra shield he got from the matching rule.

6. Cocatrice

What is probably the best card when you are almost out of total mana count but still want to save the backside of your deck from melee attacks? Yes, it is cocatrice! The combination of high speed, flying and evade ability, he is untouchable from melee and ranged attacks from your opponent Please save my back COCA!

Now, let's take a deep dive into the match, let's see if my strategy is a hit or flop!

As I thought, my opponent used a melee deck and he used Crypt Mancer, the legendary Death summoner. He seems to be a tough one, but I won the match at last. Thanks to my Lord and Rexxie, I was able to kill his Lord of Destruction and haunted spirit before he could kill my Rexxie. See my battle, click the below link:

The opponent used Haunted Spirit at the front position, followed by Lord of Destruction, corrupted Pegasus, Skeleton Assasin and furious chicken at last.

At first round, I killed his Spirit and furious chicken without losing any of my cards. His Lord came at the front at the 2nd round, the pegasus heals the LOD and my Lord got almost dead with 2 health remaining and my coca lost his shield while saving himself from the assassin.
At the third round, the opponent was able to kill my lord but my Rexxie got his rage back. He performed a double kill and ate up both the LOD and the pegasus! Well done Rexxie! You are still the best!
At the fourth round, my opponent only had one monster alive, the skeleton assassin, which I killed easily with my coca and Hobgoblin. Well well! My plan is successful!

Best attack moment:

My verdict from this awesome experience is that no monster is useless, if you thinking like this way, that only means you are not using him in the right way. Try to do experiments with each of the monsters you have, who knows, you might come up with an awesome deck that will rule the battlefield.
